How many of you have gotten the clear bra? And where's the best place to get it? I'm up here at Ft. Hood, I suppose it's too much to hope that one of the installers would come down here so I guess I'll have to drive down there and hope I don't hit TOO many bugs on the way down. I've asked my dealership Bates Nissan NOT to wax it so I can go straight with the clear bra...so who's the best? Thanks guys!

Matt,

krinkov referred me to xpel in San Antonio. 350zfreak also did the same after he had his installed. I plan to contact them to check out their price but haven't had a chance yet. Several of us should get together for a group discount. Bishop_TX also interested.

Here is 350zfreak post => https://my350z.com/forum/showthread....1306#post61306

Also check out the picture of his car after installation =>

Nice work...it looks good. Count me in for that group discount, I'll head down there as soon as I get my CS. Thanks Touring!

I may be interested in this as well. I would really like to see an installed one in person.

Count me in if it is soon. I don't want to wait too long and get a few chips. Looking at the next two weeks for the job to be done.

Default Star Customs...

I heard (from South Point Nissan) that here is a place here in Austin that does it as well. I'm not sure how good they are but I've heard they work on a lot of high end cars. The name of the place is:

Star Customs

phone no. 512 280-2604
512 380-0224

They are located in South Austin (exit Slaughter Lane from I-35). Go west to Congress Ave. and turn right. It will be located on your left.

I have yet to call due to the fact that I won't have my car until Oct. 2nd. (hopefully). If you any of you guys call tell them that we'd want a group rate. Good luck to all you lucky guys who are driving your Z's...

Has anyone gotten a clear bra done in Austin? Can you tell me how good and prices if possible? Thanks.

I never did get it done. I've decided that for the cost of getting it done ($1000.00) I can just wait and get the front bumper painted in a few years for less than $500. Call up star customs and see how much they charge. I never did call them.

That's good reasoning. I'll probably just do what you are doing. How many rock chips are getting around Austin? I drive down 183 and 35 everyday for work and figure there are a large amount of rocks coming off of those dang semi's.

I've gotten a couple of little chips but not many. Those chips came when I took my car on a road trip to Alabama for Thanksgivings. I haven't really gotten any around Austin. If I may suggest something. .. Just try not to follow 'anyone' too close, especially those big Semi's. You'll keep the front bumper 'chip free' if you just try to give the car in front lots of room. That's what I do and I really don't have many chips at all....

I figure in a few years I'll just get the front painted and it will look as good as new again. Take care and drive that Z like you stole it
