Ha!
Reminds me of the time I was blasting thru the I-90 tunnels at night...hear this LOUD motorcycle coming up behind me (they really make noise in the tunnels)...and I'm like crap, this guy is coming up fast...I better speed up!
Well..finally I pull into the slow lane to let this guy by and it's a cop! He pulls up next to me and gives me the "slow down" finger. (pointing to the ground).
I wonder if they enjoy doing that.....
I wouldn't worry about him, he was probably just making sure you weren't drunk or acting stupid. They know we like to "test" our cars once in awhile.

A couple of points
1. The officer handled the situation in a reasonable way. Give him some credit. He could have pulled you over and hassled you a bit. He probably couldn't have given you a ticket for speeding because
a) I don't believe the local police are allowed to use radar in Pa., yet
b) He didn't follow you speeding for enough distance.
He could have cited you for some crap like reckless driving though. What he did was give you a warning of sorts. He probably ran your tags and saw that the car was being garaged at the address it was registered to. As far as getting a ticket in the mail, I wouldn't worry about it. He only saw you from behind, and since you were driving a Z he didn't see very much.

I agree with Richardew's post. I had a similar situation happen to me in college. I was coming home late at night (I was driving an Eclipse at the time). I came to a stop sign about 3/4 mile from my house. I took off and hit about 65 at the precise time I passed a cop traveling in the other direction. By the time he had a chance to turn around, I hung a right, blasted down my street, came to a screeching halt outside my townhouse and ran inside. I watched the cop come by, shine his light on my car and check it out for a minute or so, and then take off. I figure he ran the plates to make sure it wasn't stolen and took off. There was no way he had radar on me because I am sure he was surprised as hell when he saw me coming over the hill towards him. I don't think your cop had any pace or radar on you either. He just wanted to give you a scare. Sounds like it worked. It sure worked for me!
