Question Shift boot

I am curious about the shift boot (or whatever it is called). I saw some pics with a rubber one and a leather one. Which models get which? Just curious because the leather definately looks better.

The rubberized boot is only found in older pictures....so i'm pretty sure it's leather accross the line now.

Yeah I just checked...even on the base model Nissandriven.com says:
"Leather steering wheel & shifter"

If they are using the rubber one, perhaps that is just for the base then and all the other models get leather. But I wouldn't think they would do that.

Exsilio, I guess that was your second attempt at a joke. Is that you in the pic? If so I got a couple of pillows you can borrow if you can't see over the dashboard. Just kidding but for real, we Automatic drivers love this car just as much as you manualheads. Give us a break it's all Love....Just to make a point though...most of the guys (maybe 80 percent) who are getting the manual won't be able to beat a guy who's flooring his automatic anyway. Which side are you on?

I had planned to get the 6spd and two days before I ordered the car there was an accident on the freeway..a usual 45 minute drive took 2hours 15 minutes....an hour of that was getting over a hill...couldn't imagine how my old legs would have felt with a stick...ordered the auto

I DONT KNOW HOW TO DRIVE STICK EITHER! But I'll probably have until October to learn.

You should try to practice driving a stick before you get the car. I don't know why some people get a new, relatively powerful, car and don't know how to drive it properly yet.

Default exsilios pic

I believe, by the caption, and because it looks like him, that is a pic of Ajay Panchal, the designer of the Z!

Most drag racers run autos because they are easy to be consistent in. An aftermarket high stall torque convertor can make an auto run really well. I love rowing my own gears though. I probably wouldn't even opt for a paddle shifted tranny w/ clutch (not a manumatic) if it was offered. I just like hitting the gates too much

It's easy to get the revs just right if you're just laying on the brakes and building pressure in the TQ at 2500 rpm.

I wonder what perfect launch will be like in the 350 Z. Anything over 2 grand in a Z-28 will roast the tires.

ANTICIPATION!!!
