Just bought a black 2004 coupe. Delivery: end of april.
I intend to have the three rear windows tinted similar to yours. Any pictures you can provide?

prrollt,
Sorry no pix, but the rear windows are 'limo tint' dark, while the driver/passenger side are the lightest tint (32%). The tint brand is Solar Gard (HP Charcoal). Go here for more info: www.solargard.com.

5 is kinda stupid. The % thing we dont use here but what we call 5 in philly is DARK. And its stupid because you will not be able to see cars at night with their lights on until u look at them and see the dots. Its hard to explain but ull see what i mean. Ive had a friend back up into a parked car behind him like it wasnt there because he had 5 on his back windshield. 5 is overboard and not necessary.. i know.. on my old car i has 35 with 5 mirror under it(2 layers installed separetly). It was AWESOME.. people literally stopped in the middle of intersections to see me in the front windshield. But with tint like that.. its not safe and cops will only have more reason to pull you over. Im sure it looks hot.. but make sure you are very careful with vision and dont do anything illegal because you have a 24 hour reason to get pulled over! Best of luck!

Maybe I just have good vision but I see fine. Well like I said my windows and top are always down unless its raining or parked. I avoid cops like the plague anyway, but if I ever get busted I'll just go to 20% I guess.

waste of money, you have about 3 days before a cop pulls you over, and they WILL give you a fix it ticket for that.
that is just stupid to tint the front window. no track will pass you through tech with the front windsheild noticably tinted.
just not wise,

Tinting the front windows is a BAAAD IDEA
If you get into an accident, and the court/insurance company notices you tinted your windshield, you're screwed. Insurance might even refuse to pay for your car if God forbid something happens
not a good idea imo

Hmm didn't think about insurance and the front...maybe I'll have them take it off when I get my stereo installed tomorrow. Besides I do want people to see my smile in their rearview windows. But the rest is staying as is!

lets clear up a few things... yes 5% is crazy dark ( i have it all around... although not the windshield! ) but its certainly not obtrusive to seeing out for a person with normal vision. if i had to do it again i'm not sure i would - only because i've already recieved a warning for it. it does look damn good on my silverstone though.
second - tinted windows have no bearing on an insurance claim.

I have 5% visor strip, probably what he's tlaking about, but that comes down 6" at its lowest point. and though 5% is not legal, 6" is.
Im not hating on the tint in general, or the 5%. as I have both, just the tinting of the windsheild is a bit careless. good to make the car look, cool, but only untill it hurts its function.
