Default Couple questions

1) when's the best time to buy a car in general. not just the Z. i always thought it was the sept -dec when they have the next year models coming in. but now that i think about it, you gotta buy something that's in the lot, if they have any at ALL.. cause they dont' have the year's models anymore. so maybe around july -august?

2) the aerodynamic package is just the rear spoiler? or is it some other stuff.. cause i personally think that the rear spoiler isn't worth the $520 or whatever. you can get factory style spoiler on ebay for like 120 bucks.

3) for the destination and handling fee. does that fee come with every car? i always thought that it was just when you order cars... but i gues im wrong right. you still pay it even if you buy off the lot?

okay that's all thanks

The aero package includes the rear wing and a front chin aero deflector.

There really is no way around the D&H... unless you can lower your buy price by the amount of the D&H

I think they'd me more willing to deal when trying to get rid of the last of a particular model year and you might be a good deal if Nissan on incentives right at that time (not saying they will, they didn't seem to at the end of the 03 model year).

The prob about waiting until July or so is that your selection becomes real limited. The dealers (and the ones they checked with that were within say 200 miles) didn't have any in the color, options and transmission I wanted. They were either the wrong color, or had side airbags which I didn't want or something else. If you're not real picky about it, then go for it. I ended up just putting down a deposit and doing for an 04. The dealer was going to gimme the same price over invoice for an 04 as for an 03.

Normally the end of August through around October/November is the best time to grab a deal on the older model year, but while the Z isn't limited production, Nissan certainly isn't pumping them out like Toyota does Camrys. That means that dealerships may not need to cut you a deal if they even have any left. And with how well the Z sells itself, don't expect huge deals just to buy an older model. They know that if you don't buy it, someone will. If you're looking to order an 04 Z, July might be pushing it. I believe production on the 05s starts sometime in July or August.

I think Feb. or early march is the best time, since they sell less cars and are more flexible in price. Plus they have more time to work with you. After march, it is generally car buying season- where almost everyone is buying a car, so dealers dont really neg. they just move to the next customer.

I would like to change my response. The best time to buy a Z is today. You should go get one right now.

Yeah, why wait? Just go in with good negotiating skills. Or even better, shop for your car through the Internet. The Internet managers are VERY willing to work with you on pricing... they want your business, so pricing on a Z can/is usually better than what you can negotiate with the regular salesmen.

Also, the best time of the month is at the end of the month. They're typically trying to reach some quota or, at least, they may feel that they can look especially good if they increase sales over what they were expecting to be able to do.

The aero package also includes a front lip spoiler, which is barely noticeable across the front underside of the car. Whether or not it's worth it is up to you.

many m3 drivers we have witnessed are simply jerks. not all, but many give the Z no respect and make arrogent comments. M3 is one of the most refined cars on earth. The engine is impecable. Alot of guys think that if its not a BMW its crap. We accept that the M3 can beat us in pretty much aspect, but for the money our cars are damn good.

I can second that. I remember the threads from the M3 boards being linked to this board. Heck, many of them didn't want to accept that a FI Z beat the almight M3. Don't get me wrong, I'm going to have one some day soon, but it isn't going to change me into a "small in the pants," insecure freak like I've seen.
