Default hypothetical question.....

Say you had an auto 350z. How much money would it be to replace the 5AT with the 6MT? I understand that it would be a few thousand dollars, but does anyone know about how much? Would it be like $2000, or would it be like $6000? Or, is this something that shouldn't even be attempted? Thanks for any input.

I think if you do the math, it would be cheaper to sell the auto car and buy a manual car. Its almost never cost effective to retrofit a manual on an auto. There's quite a bit to change and its usually more of a pain in the butt than most people realize.

Default MORE THAN 2K

It all depends on the parts. Say you find a wrecked z from a junkyard the parts would be cheaper than brand new from nissan. You would need a transmission, flywheel, clutch, driveshaft (depends on the size of the transmissions), hardware and any kind of crossmembers (if there is a difference between the two types). Unless you are going to be doing it yourself then you aregoing to be spending a lot of money on labor costs. I would think if you wnet with brand new parts for mthe factory the total price would run closer to that 6k figure than the 2k figure.
