great 3M install/auto accident *help*
Hello to all…. If anyone remembers, I’m the person that had a terrible clear bra experience a few weeks ago. I posted pictures, and some referred to it as “poop” or “packaging tape”, which it was. Well, I’m singing a different tune now. Mike Messer in Atlanta (770-471-8598) cuts his own kits. His product is called Dynashield. Mike takes the clear bra to an entirely higher level. His pattern (using the 3m film) wraps all edges. He removed the headlights and wrapped inside of them, as well as the lenses themselves, inside the fenders, and the bumpers. There is one seam on the entire car and that’s across the hood. Even this line was ‘contoured’ to match the rest of the lines on the car. He used my car as a template to develop the 350 pattern. It was a wonderful experience. It took a bit of time (two days)- one of which was spent preparing it- but it was worth every second. I would imagine future installations would be faster since he already has the pattern. This man is a true perfectionist. I drove from Birmingham, but this job would be worth a drive from anywhere on the east coast. I have friends in Atlanta so I had a place to stay.
Now, on to my other adventure…. On the way to Mike’s shop, on I-75 south, I was rear ended by a hit & run driver in an old, little, red station wagon. It happened right before exiting. This person just plowed into me. I turned on my hazard lights (it was still dark, early on Monday morning) and started to pull over on the shoulder. This person stayed behind me as if they were going to pull over also, but at the last minute sped around me up the ramp. I gave chase up the ramp, got a tag number, and let him go. This dude was nuts. He was running red lights through major intersections, and I didn’t want to cause a bigger accident. So, me and my friend that was following me pulled over and filed a report with the police….. hopefully the tag number will produce something, but the person probably didn’t have insurance anyway. For those who read my other post, this brings me to another cry for help. I’m back at home at this point, and my car is in a reputable repair shop. The insurance agent has been wonderful (progressive), but the problem is there could be an indefinite wait to get parts since this car is so new. Any ideas from anyone who has had a similar experience? I saw a post with some accident pics a while back. I would appreciate any info, although I doubt there’s anything that can be done. We’ll just have to wait and see. Following are some pictures of the 3m install-observe- no seams, and following those are the damage (a little dark). I would highly recommend the drive to Atlanta if you want a good install. This guy is awesome. And he’s very nice. I think he was sicker over the wreck than I was. After all, it’s just a car, and the way people drive, this could’ve been a lot worse.

Hoss,
Glad to see you finally got a 3M kit installed properly by a skilled installer. It looks great! But that wreck makes me grimace my cousin was killed by a hit and run driver, hope they find 'em and drag 'em behind a car for a few miles
