Has anyone experienced valve tap when the engine is first started? My '03 does it all the time even when the temp outside is 70 deg. It only lasts 1-2 seconds, but I am running Mobil1 10w-30, and it should not be happening. Any input?

 

I don't know it it matters but isn't the recomended oil 5w-30??

 

I have always used 93, usually Amoco.

 

I live in Florida, and the local dealers said they use 10w-30 all year around. I'm thinking of swiyching back to 5w to see what happens.

 

i get this sometimes too. If search was working you would see a lot of others have it to. I run mobil 1 5w30synthetic and get the tap.

Seems like this motor runs great ***** to walls, but idles like $hit
