Anyone Else Noticing 240z Influences?
I pulled the car around to wash it today (me, washing car...nooo), and from the front 3/4 view, I really saw the 240z. The hood looks much longer, and the headlights from this angle really do look hollowed out, like the old sugar scoops. And the rear had that little poke up. I never really noticed this in any pictures, but i definately saw it today. The C pillar really is 300z too, but that is more obvious. Just found it neat that while the car looks thuroughly modern, it has its "moments" Thats what makes thi car so special, it keeps on suprising you. Sory if this is pointless....

If you get the chance one day to see the DVD included with the press kit, they have a great interview with Ajay Panchal. He goes into some of the design cues of the 240Z, and makes mention of the scoop in the door panel as a design taken from the sugar scoop headlights of the 240Z.
It's a really great piece.

Pure Z to me
To me it looks like a Z from any angle. I see 240Z and 2nd generation 300ZX in the headlights, 240Z in the hood, 240Z in the way the roof starts angling toward the rear so close to the windshield, and 300ZX in the C-pillar.
If I had never seen the car before, I would think "Z" the moment I saw it. Those who are not automotive enthusiasts, who cannot distinguish between subtle design cues and differences in shapes, will see Porsche and Audi.
But we Z faithful know the truth!
