An ideal solution would be BB software that would allow the user to specify where each post gets archived. All posts can be made in a General section and then the software could automatically archive it every night in individual archive forums based on where the user specified. Alright, who wants to start coding?

IMO, if too many forums are made on a site just because the ability is there, the community gets so fragmented, and stuff some might be interested in is not seen because they may not want to venture into 5 or 6 different forums just to keep up.

At first glance, especially given my interests, a separate Audio forum seems like a very good idea. And maybe it is.
But then, if you have a problem with the Bose system, is it posted under "Audio" or "Problems and Issues"? Really, it concerns both.
And if we did an audio section, we'd almost certainly have to do a wheels section, etc. My gut feeling is that when you split it into a different forum, you lose a lot of people just browsing around, who happen onto an interesting topic by chance and join into the discussion.
