has anyone had Z repaired under new tsb for feathering
My dealer says they still have not received notification of the new tsb for feathering, they tell me they can't fix until they receive their notification. Anyone else with this wait problem?

the new tsb that came out like 3 weeks ago is for the tire feathering problems
if you go under the repair section, there should be like 8 pages on that plus the other 120+ pages from before

I got my Z re-aligned yesterday - eating tires like crazy (every 11K) - talked with Nissan North America and faxed them invoices for two sets of fronts, waiting to hear if they will reimburse me 100% like the TSB states - - - driving to work today (highway) still drifts to the right - - arrghhhh - -

I got mine done too - 2 new tires and re-alignment. I can't even believe the difference in sound. Now I can even hear the exhaust tone as I'm slowing down - awesome.
But....of course they trashed the hell out my rims - so it's going back AGAIN to get the front rims refinished.

I mentioned that TSB to them, they always act clueless - really frustrating - why Nissan (Corporate) allows such poor overall service is beyond me - - I was always taught to do things right the first time, not make excuses - - - time will tell if my tire life increases beyond the 10-11k mile range, it's getting expensive - I'm at 23,500 miles and my 3rd set of tires (including the oems, two sets out of my pocket) NNA says after this new extended warrenty we're on our own, we'll have to go to the tire manufacturer for tire life warrenty - good luck with that - I ask If we'll ever see a recall to replace our suspension with whatever supposedly had corrected it on the 2004's , she said No. I'm back to wondering if S-Tune corrects or helps this problem, at $800-$1000 every 11k miles I can pay for the suspension upgrade and save money in the long run ???

Took my 2003 DB in for its 7500 mile service on Wed. I've just started noticing the rumbling start to the feathering. I asked the service rep to check it. End result is 2 new tires and a full alignment. He said they wouldn't align the wheels unless they put new tires on first. He claimed some of the problem was actually due to the construction of the Bridgestones. Well, I take everything a dealer rep says with a grain of salt but I was very surprised they actaully wanted to replace tires that showed almost no visible feathering.
BTW, AutoWeek has a pdf of the tsb on their web page:

I had my tires replaced finally. Even though the dealer gets paid by NNA for the work certain dealers have been giving people problems doing the TSB. DON'T LET THEM BS YOU!!!!

ok, is this TSb brand new? I am getting ready to buy a z and I have been very careful because of the tire issues, but it seems like this TSB nissan is finally owning up, is this the case? I dont care how many tires I go through as long as they are paying for them.
Will this be indefinate, meaning basically they will always replace our tires because we will never get to the miles we should or does it mean they will replace the tires the first 2 years but after that we are on our own? I never keep cars longer than 2 years so it doesn't so much apply to me but still I want to know
Thanks in advance

I'm still waiting for my official note from Nissan in the mail...I printed out the TSB.
I went into the dealership about 2 months ago, before this came out, complaining about the tire issue and they said there was nothing they could do...because even tho my car had only 11k miles at the time, it was over 12mo old. They wanted to charge me $100 for a front end alignment. Well, who's laughing now! Although, I'm going to a different dealership because I don't want any hassles...I want new tires!

After reading the TSB i think I can get reimbursed for my replacement tires. I was having feathing problems so I switched rubber when I purchase a set of track rims off of a fellow my350zer for my Z.
So now I am going to send them the replacement tire repair cost (page 21 of TSB) and hope they remburse me!
Probably will not happen but I am going to try

According to a NNA rep I spoke to a few days ago you will not get reimbursed for "aftermarket" tires. So if you bought non Potenza tires yer outta luck.
As if anybody in their right mind would actually spend their own money on the crappy original OEM tires after experiencing their ludicrous short lifespan.
