Keep in mind that this is not carved in stone and I don’t want to give anyone a heart attack.

I’m going with what my dealer says is confirmed sailing on 9/26. The only vessel that Nissan use which left Yokohama on the 26th in the World Spirit.

Being an optimist and knowing that Nissan is not the most efficient company at suppling information I’m assuming that the cars are being reported to the dealers after the ship has sailed. (In my case it would be about week later) If we’re really unlucky they’re being reported on arrival at the dock which can be up to 10 days before sailing and would put me on the United Spirit which left Yokohama on 10/4.

So BOBBYZ if you’re on the World Spirit you’ll have your Z around the 23rd. As far as the Haul Traveller from what I can find it sailed out of Yokohama around 9/12. If you’re on that ship you should have it very soon. Send me you VIN and I let you know.

Finally my dealer is telling me all his orders have come in early so far. Also FYI the port problems on the U.S west coast have absolutely no effect on us. The ships always call Vancouver first then Tacoma, WA and finally Los Angeles, CA.

I’m very confident I’ll be a happy camper long before the Halloween snow we always get in QC.
Only time will tell.

Alright.
My car is east of Saskatoon acording to my dealer. Lets hope I can get it before the long weekend.
I guess I was on the Hual Traveller.
You other guys on the World Spirit only have about 2 -2.5 weeks to go. Hang in there.

Thanks man,
So if it is arriving at Macmillan at 1:00pm on Thursday, is it loaded right away on a truck or will it sit there for a bit? Like I said, my dealer is about an hour outside Toronto and I am hoping he will get it Thurday so I can pick it up Friday or Saturday.

POOCH,
Does your vin # ends with 5XXX because it would mean that mine is on the same ship as yours.

ps you're much more resourceful than the dealers!!

Hi Pooch,

I noticed everyone here getting Canadian info on their cars. I just got a number of JN1AZ34E03T005268. Would you be able to help yet one more guy out here, and tell me it'll be here in 5 minutes?

Thanks in advance,

Paul

P.S. Actually delivery in up to 4-5 hours is okay. I'm at work till then anyway.

Default Zs are a coming!

Hi all,

It seems like most of you are going to get your Zs in the not so distant future! Exciting! I saw three Zs in Toronto last weekend ... the Zs are a coming!

So far, my car has been just great. It's tons of fun to drive ... very comfortable ride yet sporty. Even the infamous Bose sound system aint too bad.

Thanks ... yours should be in very very soon. Trust me, when you get yours, it'll make all the pain and suffering of waiting for the car go away

Bobbyz:

I don’t really have a clue how quickly it will be handled at the Rail yard. I imagine in your market there must be a hell of a lot of cars coming in there. If I was you I would use the holiday on Monday as an excuse to really pressure my dealer to arrange pick up Thursday or early Friday which would give them enough time to prep it and deliver before closing for the weekend.

Good luck.

Cuki570:

Thanks for the complement. My VIN ends with 46XX but I would bet we’re on the same ship based on the date you got your VIN. Plus I think the ships carry something like 400 cars so I wouldn’t worry.

I’ll check yours when I check mine and keep you informed.

Also, you asked a while back about insurance rates. I just got mine $ 1283.00 with ING Insurance (deductible is 1500.00, they won’t accept less) Strange because it’s $ 200.00 more than what I’m paying for what I’m driving now (M-B C43 AMG - best kept secret on the road 302hp, 302 lb/ft torque, looks like dad’s car but sounds like a Shelby Cobra) which cost about 30K more.

Icepig: (Are you related to Marcel Aubut formerly of the Quebec Nordiques ?)

Your VIN doesn’t show up yet either. I’ll also check yours occasionally and let you know. FYI transit time VCR to CGY is 6 - 8 days (longer than I would have thought)

Fatzo:

Nice pics of nice toys. BTW last month the owner of my dealership loaned me his car (of course it was the first Z they got) for a couple of hours. I got more stares in those two hours with the Z than in three years with my C43. I hope I get used to that.

P.S. Shouldn’t you guys be working in the middle of the afternoon ?

Wow Pooch,

that is great new!!! My only concern is that the dealer told me yesterday that my status was still at sea, so your news was a surprise for me. One thing that's bothering me is the time it takes for the trail to get from Capreol to MacMillan, why does it take more than 30 hours to get from one to the other? I hope your source is correct, that way I'll be driving the whole weekend! Thanks again Pooch!!!

MyZ350:

I'm tracing your VIN on CN Rail's site. If the VIN is good, the status as of 8:35 PM eastern is as follows: (hope the jpeg file is readable)

Don't let a lazy dealer jerk you around.

Again, enjoy the long weekend with your Z!!!
