Just a quick update.

myz350:

Your car is sitting at the rail yard. The trace shows arrived and empty (rail car) since 10:04 AM today.

Bobbyz:

Your car arrived at 12:34 PM today but is not unloaded yet.

Good luck to both of you.

Pooch,
Isnt that strange that CN would be a full day ahead of schedule. You would think they would have this shipping thing figured out by now

About the cost of the spoiler. Is that the price installed? She said it may be about 2 hours labour to install. so maybe they are including that in your price. There is also tax remember. Find out if he meant 850 everything included.

Its almost here

Sounds like a good plan. I'm going to be talking to them tomorrow to find out whether or not that includes installation. Maybe give them a ring too and talk to your sales guy about it. I deal with Darshan, so if you're dealing with someone else, let's try that. You never know, maybe they'll quote us different figures?

As Bobbyz said, they were mentioning 2 hours labour to put it on, that might just be what he quoted me (installed).

When I talked to them today, they said it would only take a week or so to get one in so that is good news too. I'll let ya know what goes on.

At 850, it would be cheaper to order it from courtesyparts.com and have it shipped. You would still only run about what I am paying.

Default MYZ350?

Any word from your dealer yet?
Mine says that delivery for Saturday is doubtful, but still possible. I guess if he gets the car by early Friday.

I went to the dealer today to check and see if the car is there or not. Well, I was not surprised at all when he told me NO. He thought it was still at sea until I told him about Pooch's info on CN rail. He then told me that it would take about a week before they get the car???!!! There's really nothing I can do but wait for him to call me, but I doubt it will be this week with the way things have been with this dealership. Anyways, thanks Pooch!

BTW, I live right across from Krispy Kream Pooch, maybe you can drive down here once you get your Z and we will have a Z meet at Krispy Kream, donuts will be on me!!!

Hey Guys!

bobbyz, glad to hear your car is almost home!!!

Regarding the spoiler, that $649.... is that installed? Tax in? If it's just the spoiler, add two hours labour and taxes... you're up over $900!!

Got quoted $700, installed from Plaza here in Hamilton. Puts me at $805 tax in.

Hey Van!

You can get one in a week?!?!? I ordered mine about a month ago and was told they are seriously backordered. Expecting it sometime mid to end of November. And my order has been "Hotlisted" (takes priority over other orders)... Dealer in Brantford confirmed this as well....

Makes sense Canadian350Z. My dealer said could be anywhere from 1/2 hour to 2 hours to install as thay simply have never done one yet and do not know, so she will bill me accordingly. If it takes about 45min to install, I will be right at $700 plus tax. Maybe your dealer is hoping for the best on install. Should be a fairly simple install though as there is not third brake light or anything. I ordered mine right after our meet and Nissan Canada just happend to have one in Silverstone on a boat from Japan that my dealer reserved.
Saw a silverstone track the other day and the spoiler really finished off the back nicely.
My car is right beside my office at the rail yard, but I wont have it in my hands until next week .

At first I wasn't all that big on the spoiler but it sure has grown on me. Seeing that silverstone track model the other day really made me think seriously about getting this spoiler. I want the spoiler if the price is right.

I plan on speaking with my dealer more today about costing. And yes, he did say they were easy to get and that As Bobbyz put it, you can order one from courtesyparts.com for about $590 CDN. I'm sure there's a decent markup on that price.

The week leadtime is just what my dealer told me. He could be blowing smoke, I don't know. He's probably just buying it from some online place like courtesyparts.com himself and marking the price up from there! lol I'll speak with him later this morning and then post what I find in this thread.

They might have my VIN today. I'll find out more when I speak with Darshan about that and costing on spoilers. If that's the case, its a matter of a few weeks!

There's someone getting theirs this week or next at NPN which is the same color and package as mine. You never know, maybe he/she'll get jitters and back out. I'm ready to go if they do!

This is all starting to become VERY real. I like it. Ballz, you mind me asking what your insurance set ya back?

I've gotten a quote for about $1325 for insurance, based on a Z only. It's in a group rate, and I was pleasantly surprised with the price.

My insurance is through Monnex, via APEGGA (Assoc. Prof. Eng, Geol/Geophy. Alberta), which is about the only useful thing I've gotten out of them. I'm 25 with no tickets/collisions/incidents.

By the way, I have not seen Pooch around lately. Pooch, I'm getting anxious. You wouldn't happen to know anything on my car? (People are much easier to pester when they're on the internet, and you've never met them)

Default So........ICBC is quoting over $2000?.......

well.........let's hope my Roadstar status lowers that.......or is 43% the max discount?........anyone near the border may want to research getting the spoiler done in the USA...even with the exchange rate, I'd bet it's less expensive.......I will check and report back wot I uncover.

Don’t worry Icepig you’re not pestering me at all. I just don’t have much information for anyone but keep an eye out because I expect to have some this weekend.

BobbyZ and Myz350, I find it rather pathetic to see how badly the Toronto dealers are treating their clients. I guess you can take the guy out of the Sentra but you can’t take the Sentra out of the guy. To quote Slick Willie Clinton “I feel your pain” BTW one day I just might take you guys up on the doughnut offers if I ever get up to Toronto to see the Habs handle the Leafs. (I’ve been looking for an excuse to use that icon, it’s Domi on the left, McKay on the right)

Also, I have to say my dealer in Quebec is starting to look pretty damn good compared to yours. On Tuesday the assistant sales manager emailed me to say the ship had arrived and unloaded one day early and that my car was being prepped in Vancouver before loading on the train. He says Nissan install the block heaters, floor mats, and add the Canadian manuals before turning over to CN. Then this afternoon, he emails me again to say the car was loaded on the train today and that I should be able to trace it over the weekend. I haven’t called him in over a month, he just took the initiative to keep me informed. Not bad in my opinion.

So long for now.
