They gave me an eta of December. Not bad for putting down my money in the beginning of September.

How long from this point is it before I should be waiting for a VIN?

 

Great news for you, bad for me. I signed my pre-order contract,with $1000 deposit, on March 13. I received my "V" order on Sept. 24th. Anticipated delivery date Dec.

 

I would check with your dealer in November. People have been able to get their VINs a month in advance.

 

I also have a v order ,supposes to arrive late november early december.Im not holding my breath .

 

My order number is something like V33139. I ordered 6/13. Expected delivery was Jan/Feb and pushed back to December. Me thinks V is not true pre-order and is regular delaer allocation order.

 

Well my guess too is that some of you don't have pre-orders. I just went in and placed my $1K and with in two or three weeks they emailed me congratulationg me on getting an order number with the December eta.

 

I hate to break it to you: I think your dealer over-sold his pre-order allotment and didn't bother telling you. You didn't REALLY get a pre-order, he placed your order in September. You probably could have shopped around and found another dealer with pre-order slots available and maybe had your Z by now. I have heard a lot of this kind of thing going around, especially in California.

 

My understanding is that VINs are issued after the vehicle is manufactured and has passed preliminary testing and is placed on the lot for shipment.

 

I pre-ordered on 2/1 and have a V order # with December delivery! Long story due to Nissan not building my S order # car.

 

I have a V order number as well. Car ordered in late August, which means order entered to NNA in first week of Sept. Dealer saying January delivery. :-( I want my Z now!
