I received a call today and was informed that the parts were finished and had shipped from the factory.

They should be in the states tomorrow (10/08/2004). They go to my supplier first, so I should see them sometime next week.

All of the parts have arrived!

The 350Z harness is finally in production!

I've emailed everyone on the waiting list, so if you were on the list and didn't receive the notice, just let me know and I'll get you squared away.

Thank you to everyone that chipped in with input and testing of the prototypes and all of the feedback and support. It was greatly apreciated and has made for a better product for the 350Z community.

It's impressive to see everything thats being done with this car in such a short period of time. I really believe this forum has played a big role in that. We are living in the 'good ol days'!!!

Take care,

This is great. Looks like good work and quality too. I think courtesyparts sells them also (and for less $ than other guys).

I know it was discussed (and please do not take this as a bash) and I do understand that the labor to make these is costly but $250 still seems quite expensive to me. Not that it matters but just out of curiosity, does everyone else really think that $250 is reasonable ?

The thing is that it is an item of convenience not of necessity so the value depends on your need for convenience.

As far as I am concerned it is well worth not having to stand on your head while trying to figure out which wires to splice into and do the splicing, then when you need to add something else you can just lower the harness and work onit easier.

can you pass this harness contraption through the firewall? It sure would be nice if I could wire up the vortech electronics before my friend brings his car over for the install on saturday.

I don't think so, it is pretty bulky and the plugs alone are pretty big.

What you could do is wire them and then hook up some connectors to the vortech wires so you can disconnect and pass those through the firewall, and still have the harness wired up. Was that clear?

The harness doesn't work that way. Basically you just solder the wires from whatever piggyback ECU you are running to the harness and then it plugs inline with the ECU harness in your car. There is no need to worry about the firewall, it just plugs right in under the dash then mount the piggyback ECU unit you are using whereever you want it to be (as long as the wires reach). Quick and easy.

I know that, but I've got the harness and the vortech box sitting at my house. The problem is that the vortech box goes next to the battery and the harness is inside the car. I would much rather do the wiring in advance of the install, but I guess it ain't gonna happen.

I am not familiar with the box that the vortech kit uses, but does it have to ge next to the battery? I have the eManage and installed it under the passenger seat. Perhaps you could do something similar with the Vortech kit's box?

If you buy one of these harnesses it will let you just sit down at a table somewhere comfortable and solder all the necessary wires from the eManage into the harness. Then once you have it all soldered in you just plug the harness into the ECU wiring harness under the dash and your'e done. It's that or bend and contort yourself under the dash to cut and solder the wires upside down. The only downside is the price.

The patch is installed between the ECU and the plug that plugs into the ECU, with the harness you splice into the patch which does two things, one is easier to work on the patch rather than on the cars wiring and also you are not splicing up the stock wiring harness.

I'd imagine so, since they are basically the same car, but the best person to ask would be Patch.

Yes, this harness will work in the G35 cars as well. I've already had one customer use it to wire in the emanage after the Greddy twin turbo install and I sent another one to a magazine for a G35 project car with the Vortech SC. I received and reviewed the pinout info on both cars and all of the color highlighted wires are in the same location on both cars.

So, same connectors, location, pinouts.
