Question New discovery & a question...

I was out tonight and the low fuel light came on. But what surprised me is that the trip computer automatically went to the dte mode and started blinking showing 35 mls.

After 10 months a new discovery! Obviously I’ve never been this low on gas, usually I refill at ¼ tank left.

Now my question; even though the computer shows 35 miles to empty, the needle in the gas gauge is about 2 mm north of E. How much gallons or miles do you think I really have left?

You have alot of gas left at 35 DTE. I drove like seriously 15-20 when it originally said 35 and only went down like to 31...

I have gone down to where it said I only had 5 miles left. I still could only fill it with 18 gallons of fuel. Supposedly our tank is 20 gallons.

I have been all the way to zero miles left. It goes from 15 to zero quite quickly.

LOL, thanks for testing it out. I don’t want to try that experiment!

I've driven about 60 miles after it read "-----" and filled up with 18.5 gallons. Isnt there a reserve tank in there or something?

Once it gets to zero you still have around 2.5 gallons. Think of it as a very strong suggestion, not gospel.
