Still waiting for mine to get stolen as well. However, my OEM S2K antenna killed my reception. It's terrible now. Wonder why others dont have this problem?

Maybe the reason some of these guys get great reception and some of us don't with the shorty antenna is because the radio towers in some areas don't put out a strong enough signal?

dchengmd,

sorry about the antennae. i would be irritated too.

i still have my stock antennae, but strange thing is that i have a spare one too. maybe the dealer accidentally left an extra one in my car.

then again, maybe i sleepwalk and steal people's antennaes. j/k

I'm actually getting better reception with the S2000 than with the stock one. MY stock antenna sucked for reception.

Oh, and by the way, DON'T STEAL MINE

Welp, I went out and picked up another S2K antenna this afternoon, for $19.

This time I put a drop of Rod Loctite on the tip and screwed the thing in as tight as possible. I guess we'll see what happens. It might thwart the casual thief, but if someone *really* wants the antenna, he'll get it. As long as he leaves the rest of the car alone.

Blah. What would anyone want with an OEM S2K antenna, anyway? Unless the thief also drives a Z, S2K, etc...

Yeah my "silver" shorty antenna is peeling and flaking

But my reception is the same....I had to put two tiny plastic washers in the base, though.

this has nothing really to do with the topic but i thought it was funny how one of the first 10 kanji i learned was for car, and thats just the order it was in my book, seems funny that car is so high up especially when u dont learn watashi until like 50 kanji LOL

After I got mine stolen I put red loctite on it. While it does help keep it more secure, it DOES affect reception, at least I noticed a difference.

In any case, if the person were really that intent on stealing it, they could still get it off, theyll just put more force into it.
