'03 350Z: Legend or Lacking?
A brief open letter to all...
Since this excellent forum has just gone over 5,000 members and many Z'ers are getting their cars, all of us are witnessing the making of a Legend, I hope. This new Z-car can be one, but I believe it's truly up to us.
As many have given their honest opinions on aftermarket trim and parts, the various colors available, and what they feel looks and works best, I know all of you will carry the "Z flag" high. I do have one concern, however.
If we, as a group (and when I get the one I ordered), become known as speeders, risk-takers, and as an accident waiting to happen, then the image becomes tarnished for us all. The insurance rates for all Z's will go up drastically, you can be sure. And none of us would want that: messed up Z's, people possibly hurt, higher insurance rates, and a bad rep for the Z.
Please help us all continue to develop the 2003 Z as a Legend - like it should be. Keep it looking sharp, like the pics you've put on this site. Drive within your capability and without unnecessary risk. Live to cruise another day.
Thanks for reading this.

I might add, please be considerate of others when they express interest in your car. I'm pretty open with the car, I invite people to open the doors and look inside if they'd like.

I approve highly of this post. The Z is not a car to be treated with disrespect. The lineage and history of the car is worthy of proper and just ownership.
The number of cars which have the fanatical following of the Z are few and far between. Let's all do our part to ensure that this generation of Z owners accepts the torch smartly, instead of dropping it and burning ourselves alive.

I agree ...but we can't make this car a legend driving like grandmas. When I get a Z.... Im gonna put it to good use. Make sure the competition knows.....

Drivers of higher-end cars know what they have, and are generally succesful enough that they don't need a car to prop up their ego....they save the speeding for less populated roads and the track.

I'll try my best.. I may even let granny merge in front of me... (but only if my girlfriend is in the car with me to witness this random act of kindness...)
As for talking to people about my car... I don't even have my car yet and two of my friends are already considering buying one. I can't wait till I actually get the car.

My dad likes the feeling of his Z32 more than Z33... and I agree for the most part.
The Z32 just feels good and with great confidence... the suspension is much stiff compared to Z33 and doesn't "bounce" as much.
The Z33 bounces alot... more than Sport suspension mode in the Z32.
BUT... I'm soo cozy sitting in the Z33, and I feel at home. All I do is sit in the car and look around. Engine-wise... it's pretty cool, and eventually I'll get past the maxima/altima/g35/qx4 engine thoughts.
In conclusion.... I need to spend more time with this car, and hope to drive a stick better.
