Seems like a lot of people don't feel the 0-60 number is all that important, prefering the 1/4 mile times. To me, the 0-60 time is the more important one. I have no intention of driving over 100 mph. But I do plan on getting on the Highway everyday, the 0-60 times tell me how easy it is going to be getting up to high way speeds on short ramps etc. To me it's more relavant than the 1/4 mile times. The other stats I look at are the slalom and skid pad, which should give me an indication of handling.

I'm happy with the 0-60 time of 5.5 My only "requirement" was to be in the mid to low 5 second range. Faster would be fine, but I can always get there with mods, so I'm good with where it's at.

Yep, Nissan did mention the 52/48 on their website but there were a lot of things said that have changed with time...some minor, some not. They have a disclaimer on the site stating that any and all information was preliminary and nothing was set in stone. But yeah, they DID go so far as to post it....hopefully it wont change but you can bet that if it does, it would only be for some other benefit.

Some cars crap out after 60mph, like the WRX. Someone already discussed this gearing related issue, but needless to say that the 0-60 time in a car isn't the most important bit of information.

For me, if a car breaks into the 13s in the 1/4 mile its definitly a keeper :P

Meaning a combination of power that drops off in the higher gears and the small amount of parasitic drag on the AWD. Scary but I beat one on the freeway and I have no turbos...

Power doesn't drop off in higher gears. Most dyno runs are done in 4th gear. However, above 60 mph or so the power to weight ratio or an AWD launch becomes much less of a factor because the primary force acting on the car is aerodynamic drag, not the mass of the car. That is why ultimately the MPH at the end of the 1/4 tell you so much about the true HP of the car.

You are correct. Rethinking my statement I shouldn't have used the term drop off...it's more like it's not enough to compensate for other forces.
