NISSAN READ: Just got a call from the dealer...
Nissan:
NNA called them a few minutes ago and asked him to apologize to me. NNA told him that there is a small group of cars that won't serialize and they don't know why. Told him that it is now a December delivery. He didn't have any more information but was going to start calling to see what the hell is going on with Nissan. He knows that I am pissed off and he is too. WTF, Nissan!? This is the one of the worst case scenarios for someone who was one of the very first preorders! Is this December delivery going to be bumped too, just like the September, October, and November dates? Still no VIN? Am I actually getting a car? Maybe I should have waited until June and ordered then??? What about this mailer that was sent personalized with my information? You never sent an updated anything that said to expect it later than October. Some late orders go through November on their flyers? Hell, some of them already have their cars! How can a car that was supposed to be built in July, and later August not serialize? Why can someone not just shoot straight with me and give me an honest answer about why their company doesn't give a flying f*** about this! the dealership is the only one besides ZISME that has given me any info on what the hell is going on. Seems like you guys dropped the ball big time on this one! You should be very grateful to ZISME and to Moultrie Nissan for trying to aid this situation even though none of it is their fault! They have done their best to try and salvage my opinion of Nissan as an honest and respectable company. Meanwhile, my car continues to depreciate and my respect for Nissan continues to flounder. Is there anything you can do about this? Honest answers and an honest explanation go a long way... I really hope that this is not a widespread problem as this is very frustrating and can be reflected in future customers dollars!
For everyone else:
I'm sorry to post my frustration yet again, but I am hoping that someone that gives a rats at Nissan can reply to this. Everytime I do this I also invariably get someone that says I am being unreasonable. Maybe so, but you try having a car on order for so long with the maker continuously telling you it will be here next month and it never shows, serializes, or is made. I ordered Feb. 1 with it faxed to and received by Nissan the same day. Super Black Enthusiast 6spd - floor mats. Sorry to bore you and thanks to ZISME, and Rob Simmons at Moultrie Nissan!

Try PM'ing MSOsr. He had the same problem. He said that "serializing" meant that the car was never built - so definitely check out that. I'm REALLY sorry to hear about your situation

Westpak, answer to your question per ZISME:
"The bad news is for whatever reason (unknown by us), the factory did not build your order. They received
your order, all the processes were followed for the factory to build
your order, it just didn't happen. We run into this situation from time to time on all our models. Unfortunately we do not find out about what we call unserialized orders until all the boats have left for the U.S. for that particular build month. The good news is we were able to match your specs to a unsold unit that will be built soon. However, this unit would not arrive at Moultrie until December."
Zgirl: thanks for the sentiments. i am just getting tired... and i hate ranting but i do feel a little bit better after i let it out.

It happened to me also. The best explanation I could get was that when my order came up, they built a totally different car. NNA did their part and found a very similar vehicle, that was due for Nov. delivery (I was supposed to be in Sept., after ordering 2/15).
A couple of weeks after being notified, I was then called by NNA and told that the factory had now built my ordered car. I've gotten my VIN and it looks like the boat is due here in Jacksonville on Oct. 16.
Keep the faith, Brother!!!

This is total crap. I read posts every day about this dealer and that dealer with 3 or so unsold Z's.
Why is this exactly? There are thousands of pre-orders still waiting for VIN. I know something crooked is going on. and then people ordering in May getting their cars already.

thanks michael! NNA offered two, but they weren't even close... no dice for me. seems really stupid on Nissan's part doesn't it?
Apparently, this happens to the dealers all the time. They'll order 15 specific cars and the factory will fill 12 of them precisely, and dump 3 other cars on the dealer. No one expected that to happen to the pre-orders, though!
I was offered 2 that were going to be available in September, but they weren't even close, either. The Daytona Blue touring (similar to my order) was the third offered and was the closest, but not due until Nov.
NNA put my name on my order and the DB referred to above, and said I could get which ever one was available earliest. Like I said, NNA has been great........the factory needs some work.

I don't know what to say, I would be so wound up over this, just picture the next guy that wont get his/hers because they are giving his/her Z to you and they will tell him/her the same story about serializing. Hopefully the will make it up to you in some way.

Man, I feel your pain...
I went through some pretty bad heartburn myself before I gave up and bought a cancelled preorder from another dealer. If you can stand it hang in there, if not, start hunting for a replacement. And, if it helps, next time you're in south Alabama, look me up and you can take mine out.

guys/gals, i hate to do this but can we bump this message if you see it getting buried at least for a couple of days... i want to see if i can get a reaction out of Nissan if they still drop by the site. i know you will probably get tired of seeing this pretty quickly though and therefore I will try not to bump my own message. thx, alan
will do driveaz! william at nissan1 a few days ago kept insisting on an October delivery... the only way i arrived to this info is when the information that i had been given seemed impossible short of putting it on a cargo jet. so beware of some of the info from nissan1 if it seems out of place...

FWIW
If you have to abandon your preorder, talk money wih NNA. They helped me a little and I'm sure in your case they would be willing to cut you a check to help offset their screw-up. As a matter of fact, it wouldn't hurt to ask them for a rebate now. It would be a good gesture on their part to help make up for THEIR mess. They have the means, and they have sent rebate checks to some buyers already.

Double bummer... I had a very bad pre-order experience back in March with my original dealer who lied to me about being on the pre-order list (he had run out of his allocation, but was trying to string me along). Your situation is much worse! hang in there...
bump to the top..

So sorry Alan
Alan , That this situation sucks big-time...I acnnot believe the nightmare you are experiencing. I hope you get a rebate and maybe get on the internet and try to find an unclaimed black Z, drive or fly to get it and drive her home..or truck her to you. I wish they could find you another car like the one you pre-ordered. Take care Alan hang in there, we are all here for you and we don't mind the rant..you deserve to rant and you deserve to be very angry. Marcy/marcZZZ

Thanks Marcy. I promise I will let all know how this turns out. So far I haven't been able to find another SB anywhere, but maybe Nissan and I can arrive at some mutually beneficial agreement. It would take a lot at this point though. Take care of yourself and enjoy the drive. -Alan
