Default RPM Light Possible Beep?

I keep hitting the rev limiter during racing because of course im paying more attention to my driving than to the tach. I was just curious if theres a way to get the car to beep at the rpm light setting instead of just blinking lights like the rx7 did. Or maybe some aftermarket device that would beep, Anybody...?

Well, i guess no one knows of it... well im going to experiment and see what kind of voltage that bulb is using and go to radio shack or a similar place and see if i can find a beeper or buzzer that operates at the same voltage and wattage and replace the light for the beeper. wouldnt it be cool to hear the beep beep beep close to the setting and then steady beeeeeeeeep when your there, like the light.

When you are looking for a beeper, try to find the loudest one available, so you can hear it with the helmet on and the engine on full boil.

i was trying to do the same thing. What you want to do is connect something that beeps and tap it to the rev light, that way, everytime the light turns on it will beep, the faster the light blinks, the faster it would beep. I wanted to try to connect it with the thing that makes the noise when your door is open and you have the key inside, but that comes from the control module. I haven't taken it apart, yet So i think it would actually be easier to get something else (external audio device) and connect it.

oh yeah.. i forgot what site it was but basically it would allow you to set the beeping at a certain RPM and then it would get faster or whatever. and you can set it on a low RPM when you give it to a valet so if they go over like 4k or someting and it beeps like crazy they'll ease off the throttle.

you guys could ask ChrisMCagle to make something like this...
he has made a DIY shift light mod which basically is an external LED light you can place anywhere.

in the instructions, you wire to a trigger point in the gauge cluster, which is the "remote lead" for the external LED. i am sure you could replace the LED with a 12v buzzer or something, then the buzzer would go off whenever the stock shift light was on.

i will PM him this thread.

Default Buzzer

SKiDaZZLe, Thanks for the heads up.

Hey Guys, I will look into this as an add-on option for my shift light kits. You can check out the details at www.350ZFreak.com.

I'll let you know when I have a buzzer option available, it should not be too difficult to add.

Default Red led

I don't have a picture with me, but I'll upload one when I get home today. The actual housing looks different and is a brushed aluminum look similar to the other interal accents in the car. The LED is pretty bright though.

Will post pics soon

Default Audio shift indicators are now available!

I am happy to announce that the Shift light kits now have the option of an audio/alarm shift indicator in addition to the LED (for an additional cost). PM me or e-mail me at chrismcagle@yahoo.com for details.

Here is a picture of the new Red LED for those who wanted to see it.
