All your octane booster are belong to us...

 

I don't mean to be a jerk about this or anything, but first you post saying you are at 3/4 of a tank of fuel, and exactly 1 minute later you post again saying you're at 1/2 a tank? What on Earth did you do to use up 1/4 tank of fuel in 1 minute... and still have time to come back in and post about it?

 

sorry didnt actaully think u would take the time to read when i posted each post. however i should correct my mistake and inform u all that i had actually filled up the previous night but wasnt able to post because the site was down. therefore i posted saying i filled up the following night. having two days after i filled the tank to full, it went half. however, the night i filled up i did do about 50miles in driving and went home with about 3/4 tanks left. then the following day i did my usual route of school, nissan, work, and back home. when i got home i had 1/2 tank left. drove around that night and made some posts.

now i filled up again last nite and switched brands of octane booster to see the affects. might empty the tank tonite and drop in some C16 from my moms corvette to see the affect of race gas on an NA motor. ill keep everyone posted.

NA or FI wouldn't make a difference. Toluene just increases the octane rating of the fuel. To my knowledge, Toluene (or something like it) is what gasoline manufacturers use to adjust the octane of the gasoline the are producing at the refineries.

The only drawback to buying Toluene (for automotive use) at a paint store is the potential lack of purity. Paint stores sell Toluene that is intended to strip paint, so purity isn't that important. In an engine, though, that purity might matter. For what it's worth, I never had a problem using it in my Audi.

I really hope I'm not starting something but I just gotta say I cannot imagine walking into a paint store to buy something to put in the Zzzz!

How much (above premium at any given time) does av gas run on average? 20 cents? 30? interested in knowing, since i'd feel better using that than dumping paint thinner into my tank.

 

last time I saw the price for 100 it was about $4 a gallon. Of course if your gonna race thats the best stuff.
