Default Bouncing along

I have a 2003 model. Whenever I hit a bump or rough pavement.the car tends to bounce up and down. It this problem inherent in the model or do I have a problem with my shocks?
The car rides very stiff, so I feel every bump. Stiffer shocks would not be practical. Does anyone have a solution?

Tein S-Tech Springs for me. Subtle drop and no more bounce.

That's common on 2003 & 2004, Euro-spec is on 2004.5

350Z Euro-spec version has a significantly better/supple ride while still maintaining handling performance without being stiff like the Japanese/US version.

Nissan Japan is so impressed with what their counterparts in Europe have done to the suspension that they will implement the Euro-spec suspension in future Zs.

Ignor Zcool who appears to have lost his.

Numerous Z owners have the same issue. The amount of bounce seems to be highly dependent on local roads.

Look on the suspension section of this board. Several people, including me, are following the threads dealing with the new Koni shocks plus various brands of springs.

Man, there are some seriously uptight folks on here today! The guy is asking a valid question. He's not complaining about the stiff ride, he's saying because it has a stiff ride, he doesn't think that going with even stiffer settings is the answer to the bounce problem. That's a logical thought process, so take it easy on him.

Lot's of people on this forum have complained about the bounciness of the Z, especially in the back end. Check out the suspension forums and you'll see what solutions people have come up with. Personally, I'm going to be installing the Tein CS kit w/ EDFC. This lets you control ride stiffness (from inside the car even!), and gives the car a reasonable drop.

Good luck, and glad you like your Z!

I know what I bought. Just because it's a sports car doesn't mean it should feel like a horse on a merry-go-round. There is obviously an issue with the shocks and I was looking for helpful suggestions. Your drivel adds nothing to the question. Perhaps you're the one on the high horse.

How much does a Tein CS kit w/ EDFC run? And do you think a novice could install it with the right equipment on hand?

If you get the EDFC you'll have to run the wires all through out the car. (I.E. pull up panels.)

Of course stiffening the ride will reduce bounce. Does anyone else feel that some luxury sedans such as the MB's S-Class have bouncy rides, truley like a marry-go-round? Everytime I ride in one it feels like I am riding mild waves. Which I believe many people actually enjoy but for me the stiff ride on the Z is perfect. I actually enjoy feeling every bump on the road, especially to feel the balance of the car during high speed turning.
