Actually they started but I responded, I like the site and info they have and like the S2K but got sick of the Z bashing so I had to respond.

Feel free to hop on and troll for some moral support. So many people there are blind to what other cars have to offer that when they can't talk **** about a car (i.e. the Porsche) they have to talk **** about the drivers of that particular car. I smell jealous people.

Personal opinion? Let the Honda people talk about Hondas, bro, and stick to the Z page. We know what the better car is. Allow them their delusions.

I didn't read any other posts...but I don't really see what they did wrong in that thread that would warrant people here to go over there and start a childish fight. Everyone has got their own opinions. I have friends with S2Ks and I think its a great car...but I have my reasons for picking the Z, and they have theirs for picking the S2K. As they say, to each his own.

I'd rather the Z owners not make bad reps as trolls for no reason. Just sit back and let the numbers speak for themselves.

I find the Porsche owner comments interesting. Porsche Club of America (PCA) is one of the more active auto organizations when it comes to driving schools/driving events (at least in North Texas). It's very difficult to get in one of their events because they're usually booked solid w/ Porsches.

Anyway, I'm sure a couple of my friends would take offense to that. For example, one is 33yo and owns a 1996 911 Turbo. He races his spec RX-7 in NASA and SCCA, but he also instructs for PCA, NASA, and other local driving events. I've ridden in his 911 Turbo at these events when he's instructing and it's more gratifying than a rollercoaster ride. Especially when he's driving in the rain on track tires.

Some people need to stop sitting on the sidelines and actually start attending these events and see for themselves. The only people they are fooling w/ those comments are themselves.

Michael.

Yeah, I'll be here on sunday (was gonna go up to Santa Barbera but got a ticket heading there last week for 120 in a 65, on the 101 and I don't want to get another one) as will a friend of mine with a CS touring. We should definitly meet up and go for a drive somewhere good, perhaps the Pacific Coast Highway.

DId you hear me honk like crazy and then see my fly by you in a black Z when you were getting off the 405 South at sunset, sitting on the 405 in traffic? I went crazy, but you didn't seem to notice me. Perhaps that wasn't you....?

As an s2ki.com member who also checks in here every other day or so,
I don't find it particularly surprising to find a few of you with your "boxing gloves" at the ready. We're no different when we get linked to the tired, cliched "no torque" comments which frequent many enthusiast forums...mostly from those who simply have never driven the car or are haunted by that high revin' Castrol GTX commercial from years back.
Anyways, you can't debate asthetics with folks. Some people hate the new Z and others loathe the S2000, calling it "Miata-esque." I haven't seen the newbie Z in person yet (local dealer has YET to get one) but from what I have seen from photos here, there are aspects of the car I really favor and others I am less enthusiastic about. That's certainly not a thumbs-down because if you glance over to my avatar, my Powerball-present automobile of choice could use some touch-up work in the rear fascia as well (Pagani Zonda) but something tells me I wouldn't kick it out of my garage for eating motor oil.
In fact, I don't like everything about my S2000 either. If someone doesn't like the looks of the 350Z, is disinterested with the quality and fit/finish of the interior or radio, isn't taken aback by the stance, etc. let them be. You won't convince them with words. I can understand defending the car if someone discredits factoids or performance/handling traits...that always makes for interesting fodder and can easily be debated with success (re: timeslips or race results) but really, how are you going to change someone's eyes? Hell, there are people walking the planet who think every Italian hood with a pranching bull on it looks like an insect. Now...how are you gonna debate that one?
There's been enough S2000 vs. 350Z, "my short throw can beat up your short throw," etc. threads to last us a year. Plenty of room on the highways for both of us. As far as the Porsche opinions, I'm 41 and really haven't met too many owners of ANY Porsche that take their car to the track/road course so if I voiced my opinion based on my own experience, I'm likely to say, "most owners I know buy the car to cruise around in and probably couldn't tell you the difference between understeer/oversteer." Does that mean there aren't owners tearing up Laguna Seca on weekends? No. It's just I haven't met any.
I think we can all agree on the fact that there is no qualification course for "automobile operation as designed" ownership. As crazy as it seems, I know people who have purchased the S2000 who think VTEC is a 900mhz phone.
Let 'em be.
To paraphrase another, "We can't all be enthusiasts, otherwise, who would stand on the sidelines and wave the checkered flag?"
Enjoy the drive.

Very cool response and very thought out, which by the way most of the time people are like at S2ki.com and here. As someone, on S2ki.com said I think, can't remember, arguing on the internet is like the special olympics, even if you win you are still retarded. Bottom line, you are right, looks are subjective, but power, speed and handeling isn't..

Who cares... fun factor is more important.

Part of that fun factor is driving and personalizing the car (i.e. mods).

As another s2ki.com member here, I say,who cares...it's all just smack-talking on forums anyway. As long as both owners respect each other on the streets, then it's all harmless chat.

Maybe we should get some S2K/350Z meets going...I think that'd be hella fun and would be a real attention getter...hehehe

I just don't understand why people who own a sporty car feel that they need to bash all other cars in the same category. It doesn't matter if you own a Z, S2000, Mustang, Vette, or whatever--every forum I've ever read has way too many people just spouting lame *** comments about other cars that they've never driven.

These narrow minded ways of thinking show that they really don't know much about cars.

Here in Austin the S2K and 350Z folks have been getting together fairly regularly. There is absolutely no animosity between the two groups. We share a common love for cars and speed. Besides, it gives us more opportunities to show them the error of their ways. j/k (Man, ChrisS is going to kill me for that one)

Enjoy your car for the reasons you got it, and let others do the same.

JD

PS

GameOver- against my better judgement, I will comment about your post. You have once again proven yourself to be the Community Honda Troll that won't go away. I am sure in the face of mountains of logical and rational examples of why you are wrong on a subject, you would still extol the virtues of Honda. Knowing that, I am sure you will come up with some witty retort. But maybe instead you can tell us why you still come here.
