Hmmm, I was wondering if we really had 20 gallon tanks, thanks for clearing that one up.

The most I have put in was 16.8 or so with the dte flashing - - - -.

I go over 17.8 -18 regularly.
Unless going for a long trip I never fill more than 9 gallons at a time. Why carry 40lbs of extra weight around?

I tuck19.68 once, and I have driven 137mis. past "E" 137 mis, was with 9 other Z's going to "Z"CON from Nor. Cal. to So. Cal. in June and I only took 16.92 at gas stop off "I- 5" in bakersfield. It said I was averaging 26.9 mpg., but I had gone 468mis. between gas stops,(this was topping off both fill-ups)thats 27.6mpg.

I always say - it costs no more to run a car on a full tank of gas than it does an empty tank.
Actually, I am pretty sure that it does recalculate at a regular interval, moniters RPM's and other conditions in the car to give us a pretty accurate display of what we have left in out tank. I think this because when I draft a semi my mile left will actually increase while I am driving. If I have time I can prove this to you but I would bet that it is pretty close (minus the "safety allowance" that everyone is talking about).

If you drive far enough - perhaps you might get back to 400 miles left ?? GREAT !!!

never ran out of gas. i generally fill up with 400-410 mi to the tank. 21-22 mi to the gallon x 20. i drive like a grandma lately, so there isnt too much fluctuation to my mpg.
