they are useful if you like to work on your own car. when you take off nuts, bolts, that are tightened from the factory, you must tighten them down to the specific torque level the manufactuer deems safe. that's why people buy a torque wrench. you don't always have to torque nuts and bolts down, but i just like to be safe.

I've gotten my front tires replaced and dealer also re-aligned my car..but now..the 2nd set of tire is also worn unevenly and making the same rumbling noise. However, the dealer is blaming the new uneven wear on my driving nabits and saying that i caused the alignment to go out ..so said i had to replace the front tires on my own..and get another alignment...
Has anyone else had this same problem??

No, but I can post what the manual says for these or other nuts & bolts. What do you need?

I'm no mechanical engineer by any stretch of the imagination, but my first guess is that if you torque them down too hard you will crack the oil gasket.

80 lbs should be more than enough i guess....i wouldn't torque my lugnuts any higher than that. i'm happy with mine at just under 70 lbs.

Now I'm not saying that I'm right, but the KJR crank pulley installation manual says that it should be put to 36 ft/lbs.

http://www.kjrperformance.com/docs/K...%20Install.pdf

Can anybody verify which is correct? Is it different for the revup engine?
