the VQ35DE was put in the 2000.5 Nissan Pathfinder rated at 240hp. I think Nissan is smart to share parts given that Z is meant to be an affordable sports car vs. the exotics. Use proven technology. Granted, there will be some compromise. (e.g. Z's weight).

what bothers me is that we have a similar exhaust sound as the G35c and the FX....the exotic sound is getting played out....
the only thing unique in our cars is probably just the styling....but 90% of the people probably dont know that...
lots brands do the component sharing...even the ford GT has some parts from the common ford bin....lambo's and rolls have the same keys as a lil VW golf
....i feel bad for those exotic owners....
