Potential Hatch failure
Just a heads up here. Had a problem, fixed it and filling you guys in. My O4 DBZ hatch failed this morning and would not unlock and open using either the fob, the rear hatch release,or the emergency release. Found out there is an electrical wire running parrallel to the actuator rod which unlocks he hatch. This stiff wire was getting in way of the actuator's rod and not allowing the full range of motion needed to open the hatch .
The fix to this: Remove carpet from rear and remove back most plastic interior panel, being careful not to break any plactic clips which hold the panel in place. Locat the offending wire in the metal box located to the left of the locking mechanism and use a heavy duty cable tie to relocate the wire away form the actuator rod and against the metal plate which makes the top of the box protecting the actuator. Then replace panel making sure to get it fully seated and underneath the weather stripping. And return carpets.
Hopes this helps someone!
