Question XM Radio

Hi guys and gals- I will get my Z on Wed this week. It will not have the Nav system. I have bought the Delphi XM radio package already. Any hints or sugestions on instalation. I think I would like to put he xm reciever in the nav console and the antena on my rear strut bar under the back window. I want the install to look real sharp with out a bunch of visible wires. Any hints?

Ben...

If you look around on here I've seen pics of installs both in the nav console and also in the sunglass compartment. Both looked really sharp...

Totally agree. The XM satellite system relies on 2 satellites at synchronous orbit (equator)and as such the antenna must always have a look angle in the southern hemisphere. Any departure in pointing means loss of signal. The SIRIUS on the other hand relies on 3 Polar satellites( directly overhead)and the antenna mount for the Z on the strut bar always looks upward..

I have the XM setup mounted in the nav console and I love it. I think it looks awesome. I havent seen the Sirius setup in person to scan through the channels, but I have 30 Channels programmed into my XM that I listent to regularly and thats more than enough for me. I like the idea of mountind the antenna on the strut bar. Didn't think of that one.

Yes, I would echo the recommendation of ditching XM and going with the dog...
