So, what's the verdict on this problem? Does it always go away? Just picked up my car last night, and it has some condensation as others have noted. How long before I should take it in to the dealership?
Thanks,
mika

has the problem come back after a while? i noticed a little condensation after i washed my car the other day. havent seen it since. but i dont want it to become a reoccuring problem. if it happens again i guess i will take it to the dealer. hopefully there will be a bose fix by then.

its not a sealed unit. any time you have that much glass you are going to get condensation during abrupt changes in temp/moisture. Anytime you do, it should go away rather quickly after driving it. My condensation went away in about 2 days i think.

Sure, mine goes away, but is back the next morning. Don't get me wrong, i am in love with my car but this is pretty ridiculous. There's no reason for a $35,000 car to have a problem like this. Please don't flame, but i bet the G35C won't have the condensation, and it's headlights are more or less the same size as our Z's. Just doesn't make sense why it would not be sealed. Once again, don't take this as hating on the Z, because i wouldn't have anything else, but things like this and the BOSE are simple things that should have been taken care of while the car was still in testing.

Condensation can develop on windows too, under certain conditions. If it does happen in the headlight covers, it does go away when you turn on the lights. How is this a "problem"? Are we getting extremely finicky here?
(BTW I saw a bit when I picked up the car but never again, but I live in a dry climate. But even if I did see it again, I wouldn't care.)

It was pouring rain the day we picked up the 350Z and they pulled it into the showroom and wiped her down for picturers. Both headlight covers had inside condensation, and the dealer noted the concern. That was the last time I noted any condensation in the past 2 months. So it appears to go away, if not I'm sure Nissan will fix the problems.

I hope that people are not going to accept this as normal. It is not. Whether sealed or not (yes there are sealed units) this is an issue that never appeared on XKE Jags, 300zx, or other cars unless there was a problem in the gaskets or a crack in the housing.
The only cars I have ever seen with reoccuring condensate problems were infact Ford products. YIKES Nissan can do better than that.
I hope mine does not have the issue at all.

I never said it was a design flaw. I merely mentioned that some fine automobiles in the past and present don't have the issue.
If Nissan designed the head light for full ventilation then it ain't gettin enough. Also if the xenon bulb gets wet at operating temp. then there will be a sudden loss of light.
So yes if Nissan designed it to condensate then it is a design flaw and or a pretty stupid oversight.
I await my Z - that does not mean I'm gonna put up with quality issues nor should anyone else.

no, of course we all want the Z to be perfect, which includes no condensation. the concern is taking it too far, its a simple thing, not a big deal, no reason to abandon the Z over(not saying you were). if you can fix it, great, if not, great, I dont notice it, but then again, Im too busy trying to get into the car and drive it rather than inspect for condensation.

I read a booklet on the Zs and it stated that problem and they responed with exactly what Yamaha said.
If you just can't stand it turn on your lights for a short bit.
