The VQ35 is also a truck engine! That same engine is under the hood of my 01 Pathfinder.

but for example a nismo r tune Z with the cams headers intake and exaust like you said makes around 320+ at the crank thats still under 300 rwhp so it might take a little more work to reach 300 the key to this lies in the ECU.

The ECU is very important, but there are solutions out there for this already, its just most people are only using them for their FI cars. Looking back I almost wish I would have went this route myself. One thing I noticed is that you like Nismo and no offense, but their r-tune parts will not get you to the type of power that this engine is capable of. I have an auto with 19" wheels and my last Dyno was 275rwhp and that was with an ECU flash that put me in the high 11 low 12 A/F range. That is now fixed and I gained quite a bit of power as evident by a 3mph increase in my 1/4 mile trap speeds. Someday I will make it back to that Dyno ( 12hrs away) to see where I am with the proper ECU settings. Point is, this engine is very capable and is already putting down big numbers, yet very little has been done with the heads and their is room for improvement. Unfortunately, many of the heavily modded N/A cars do not have TS in their back yard to help tune them to perfection. This engine has proven to be very picky about timing and A/F ratios.
