Dobs, I can only hope our cars are sharing a ride over here...
That is very good news !
Note: I just received an e-mail from my dealer. My car was
finished on October 5th. Shipped out on October 11th and is due in L.A. Port on Halloween on United Spirit. I'd rank that as good news!!

Billy looks like our cars are only a few numbers apart. My guess is that they are on the same ship. I was told I will get my car Around the 8th of November.

Dob, Nov. 8th sounds good to me. I think my guy told me the 19th to give himself some breathing room. Either way it's just around the corner. The garage is clean and the Zaino is waiting...

Dobs, Sorry to here about the delay. Mine actually came in early. I
picked it up last Weds, the 6th. And guess what? the third time behind the wheel, the second day I had the damn thing, a rock found my front bumper. A nice 1 1/2 inch gash below the right front headlight. It had to be repaired professionally and the entire front bumper is being re clear coated. Of course that meant they had to pull the front bumper off to refinish it properly. Unreal. And the bummer is that I already had a Nov. 23rd set up to get the 3M clear bra installed. Now I've got to wait an additional 30 days to let the paint/clear coat cure. I guess it won't see any drive time until I take it on Dec. 21st for my new appt. SON of B................!!
Protect your front end ASAP!!!

Wow that sucks. Sorry to hear that. Well I received the calls 2 weeks ago that I would get it in 2 weeks or LESS. Still waiting. Called tonight and he was gone. Will hear back from him in the am. I am antsy. I want to cruise.

The wait is definitely worth it. It is an incredible automobile. The only problem and it's minor at that is the very limited view out of the rear hatch. You'll know what I mean once you're in it. But hey, that's what side mirrors are for.
On a brighter note, Picked up the Z from the shop last night. Looks absolutely perfect. and even better because I had them fill the two license plate frame starter holes. Now the bumper is as smooth as a baby's butt...
Here's to hoping yours comes in early...

Why don't you go to nissanusa.com and see if your VIN is in inventory? I ordered about the same time you did, 9/8/02, and my VIN appeared in inventory today indicating delivery in 2-5 days.
Looks like you and I will be the first "V" order numbers to get our Z's!!

still no VIN number or delivery date estimate
HI, I put a deposit down on my pre-order on August 26th. I have called and called my dealer and I still do not have a VIN number or an updated delivery date. I even called 1-800 NISSAN1 and they have been checking on it for almost a week now and they can't tell me anything either. They said it was a dealer issue and only they could get me the info i wanted. Does anybody have any suggestions of something else I could do or call to find out my VIN number and an updated estimated delivery date. Any help would be greatly appreciated....

Go in person, if possible
First find out when the General Manager will be at the dealership. Then go down there, and ask first for an order number (which should have been available about a week after the order was placed). If they stall or make excuses, then I would ask for my downpayment back and go elsewhere.
If they do give you an order number, then ask HIM when is the estimated build and delivery dates.
Lastly, call Nissan again and tell them what's happening.
Remember, the 'squeeky wheel get the grease'!

Uro and I have the same idea. Just as I pmed ya 2003350zgirl. Taking your business elsewhere and then spreading the word around is the worst thing for them. My first experience, which was in August, was at a dealership where they stated that I couldn't even put down a deposit. I later found out that the sales person who siad that was fired and I told the manager at that dealership I went down the road and they were happy to take my money. I also told him to train his employees better so that he could get a bigger bonus.

Well, I finally received a VIN from Nissan's Consumer affairs via email today after I complained of poor communication from the dealer. Ordered 7/8, received a "W" order # on 10/31. Dealer still has not called with any more info. My VIN is #####107399.
Noted in a previous post you can track your VIN at nissanusa.com. Went there...don't see any where to "track" it. Suggestions???

Paul, No tracking available anywhere. Keep checking the dealer inventory listing on the nissanusa website and your car will suddenly appear one day... Now that you have your VIN NNA has done all they can for you... Build your exact model on the site, save it and check it 10 times a day like we all did while waiting.
And once it's in, the waiting was all worth it....
