Ugly a$$ ignition
Has anyone else noticed the ugly GM-parts-bin ignition on the Z? Every freaking Nissan has these things. How much money could they be saving? Can't they at least cover it up with an ignition light?
Even a Honda Civic has a key-light to help you at night!

Have you ever seen Ferrari keys? They are even bigger and more gaudy lookin.
But again, I suggest just leaving the key in the ignition and driving. That should help you forget about the ugly key...
Like you said, Hondas have pretty keys, but suck rear end in every way possible...

What used to be in luxury cars filtrered down to the rest of vehicles.
Nissan seems to have gone the other way and made a 2 dollar part ubiquitous.
Oh come on. Does it really bug you THAT much? I wouldn't care if my key fob was shaped like a corndog with muscleman arms. The car is still great. As long as the key works, be happy. It's like complaining that you don't like think the seatbelt buckle should show fingerprints so easily. There are plenty of other reasons to lust over your Z even if the keyfob does look like poo.

This ignition does not look like any GM part, I used to have a GM and its different and way better. Its much better built, its fery still and solid unlke the GM which is loose and broke so that I couldn't take the key out of the car.
Man everyone here is an uptight little sissy.
Have you guys even looked at a Civic ignition key-hole, or even a Toyota, Cadillac? There is a nice shiny well cast part. There is a nice light that you can find the keyhole when you're parked in the middle of nowhere.
My point is that why is Nissan so cheap on this part? If even Hyundai can make theirs look somewhat nice; why can't Nissan make a decent looking one. Regardless of people's heresay about "how much better it is than GM", it's still looks like a POS.

OMG, least signnificant Z-whine ever! I thought I was a car nut, but I think the only time I ever think about the ignistio is if I haev trouble with it. I don't even have a clue what it looks like (and I'm so apathetic about it that I won't even look when I go to lunch....)
Mmm. lunch..

It's simple cost-cutting. When you think about it there are a lot of things this car doesn't have. Simple things. But that's how Nissan can create such a performance oriented vehicle with such a fair price. The car doesn't have all those little touches. No floor illumination, cheap a$$ stereo, cheapy looking interior materials, worst cup-holders ever created, no lights on the doors (just reflectors), and a long list of annoying little problems.
But this car was also not meant to be a luxury car. It is basically a fun car that has the essentials to be a daily driver.

Just wondering, what does the G35 coupe have that the 350Z doesn't? (i'm talking little things that you notice over times, so don't be a smartass and say a backseat) Just wondering if Nissan actually made the G35 coupe a "luxury" car or if they just glammed it up a bit more than the Z.
When do you find the time to even look at the key or the ignition? That is the stupidest thing to complain about!! If you can't find out how to get the key in the ignition in the dark I would hate to have sex with you in the dark!!
