Exclamation Navigation System Problems.....

I've got a couple of problems with my NAV system so far:

1) Everytime I started up my car yesterday, I got the following message on the NAV screen:

"DVD-ROM Version is not Correct"

It would take longer than usual to start up, but would would eventually work anyway. Anyone have this problem? I think my DVD software version is 6.1

2) The NAV voice is too freakin loud! I have it turned all the way down and it's still too loud, plus is totally kills the radio audio. My Acura's system worked a lot better....

I am sure you know you can turn the voice off and the screen will give you a nice countdown to your next turn.

That's what I did last night because I got so annoyed with it.

Did, but sys gobbled it. Anyway, check your DVD for smudges. That can cause exactly the symptom you described.

I just popped the DVD out and it looks perfect. No smudges whatsoever.

I had the same problem with my NAV after the second day of ownership. I took it to the dealer and they called the Nav support team and sent out a new disc. No problems since!

Just curious.... can a DVD movie be played in the NAV system? I know it says DVD on the unit but I haven't tried to see if it works although I doubt it.

Question Is there...

is there a PDF version of the NAVIGATION manual. I have the car's manual but have not been able to find the Nav manual. I'm assuming it comes separately since the owners manual does not talk about the Nav system.
