Default Dealer Run-Around - Please Help

Well I took the Z in to the dealer this morning in order to address the window problem. The driver's side window doesn't lower the 1/2 inch it's supposed to when opening. Instead it barely lowers, probably less than a 1/4 inch. The passenger side fully lowers, and the driver's side had *always* lowered the correct distance (same as passenger side) when I first got the car.

Called in to service and the service guy is trying to pass it off as "normal." He used the worst reasoning possible, and said the window was "readjusting"--whatever that means. As if the windows distance is automatically supposed to shrink and readjust?! His "proof" was that he had a few Z's on the lot whose driver's side lowered the same short distance as mine.

I know that this is definitely BS. Has anyone else had this problem? Also, any advice for how I should handle this? I'm supposed to pick it up today after work.

Thanks in advance!

I dont think mine even goes down a full 1/4 inch. Just enough to clear the roof line. At least it has always been consistant.

Honestly it is nothing to worry about, as long as it CLEARS the roof. (and trust me you will know). You do not want some jackass with a GED tearing the inside door panel of your Z apart for a 1/4 of an inch.

mine used to be fine. then my window was taken out and put back in on the driver side and it doesn't go down as far anymore. nissan tried and tried to fix it but to no avail. it clears just fine..so i leave it alone now.

I took it to Glendale nissan.

I hear what you guys are saying, but the window was barely clearing on the portion closest to the rearview mirror. eventually it might not clear at all, so I wanted to get it fixed.

there is actually a TSB for this, and it explicity states that the windows should drop 10 mm (which is almost 1/4").

12.6mm = half inch

Not trying to be smart, just saying it should drop more than a quarter inch.
