Dealer wouldn't let me change oil at 1100km???

Well ... on M3's after 1200 miles BMW requires that the engine oil, gearbox oil, and diff fluid all get changes.
They require it before you take the car above 5k RPM and is considered part of the break-in. They philosophy is that the oil and fluid is full of particles and shavings (I guess they don't care as much about non-M cars).
Anyway -- figure if BMW thinks it's worth it on the M, I think it's worth it on my Z. I may not be necessary -- but it's a good precaution.

hmm...now you got me thinking, maybe I should change the diff/gearbox and LSD oil....
Did you all change yours within 12 months?
