Default HP difference in 2005 Track Model

What does Nissan do to the Track/35th Anniversary models to bump them up to 300hp?

Changed the ECU, slight change in timing, VVT added to exhaust valves, 400 RPM added to Redline.

I'm curious to see the new quarter and 0-60 times.

Is the HP worth the loss in torque?

Read the article and it tells you...

The 35th Anniversary Z®’s engine has been modified using revised pistons and camshaft and the addition of electronic exhaust valve timing control.

Responded to similar post as well but I talked with Nissan Competition to find out what parts are different and was told that the difference is all ECU tuning, otherwise the motors are the same.

I don't think you can add exhaust valve control with an ECU change

There must have been a physical re-routing of timing belts to accomodate the new function

I was told almost all of the 13hp difference was the ECU tuning, so yes I know it has an exhaust valve control but according to Nissan Comp, its not worth anything HP wise, maybe 1-2.

Probably the reason why it is "mostly" ECU tuning is b/c they had to retune it for the VTC on the exhaust cam. So I bet the VTC on the exhaust help a bit. They also mentioned that it has revised pistons.

Well, take it anyway you want, but when I talked with Nissan Competition, to find out what parts I needed to update my motor in my racecar, they said it was all ECU tuning and that the new engine parts dont really add any horsepower. So in other words, I was ready to spend money and buy parts and they said dont bother....
