Default Need feedback please.

Well, after 3 months of deciding what car to get, seems like the Z would be the best choice, money wise. Anyways, im plannin on getting a Z sometime late December. As I've been reading these forums, i can see a lot of issues.. I definitely do not want a car that'll cause me a lot of problems later on in the future. So can anyone explain to me whats going on? I know the 03 z's have problems, what about the 05's? And what problems have occured to u guys and what should i know before purchasing a z.

As with any new model the first year has its problems, I have a 2004.5 and it has zero problems. And if it did you drive back to the dealer and say this is broke fix it... The biggest issues are tire feathering but in the 2004 its rare and im betting in the 2005 its even rarer. The z is the best style, performance for the money that you can fine.

also i would try to get one now, you can proably still get a 2004.5 model at a VERY discounted price...

can't tell just yet if the '05's have some of the problems the 03-04's have had....the model is still too new...gotta wait for people to put more miles on their 05's to know for sure. i havent even broken in my 05 yet.

True - you can get a good deal on 2004.5.

Question is "Was the feathering problem resolved in the 2004.5 model?"

We probably need a poll specifically for the 2004.5 asking if anyone has had feathering. Then it would be easier to decide 2004.5 or play it safe and go 2005.

OK thanks. It's just that I don't remember any posts in the various 'tire problem' threads where someone said - i have a 2004.5 with the feathering problem.

One thing you need to remember about any forum like this is that the people with problems are very vocal about it. For some reason people just like to *****, whine, and complain. And you're looking for the problems now, because you're about to make a huge decision, so that amplifies the effect. I don't understand why more people are not motivated to post what a great experience owning this car is, with or without problems. I for one love mine, it is an 03 preorder, with ~17K on it now. Being a pre order, I've had every little problem under the sun, but I am still passionate about it.

2004.5 ere with just over 10K miles. No featehring yet.
I have heard a very few reports of feathering on 2004.5's, but not nearly as many as the 2003's had.

Amazing car. Couldn't be more pleased. I'm aware that there are issues that people are having...but I haven't yet experienced any problems (03 Track).

Great car. I don't think it has any more/less problems than any other sports cars out there.
