That's why I bought the Z, I could have gotten an EVO/SRT4/STI.

Z is at a disadvantage to all of them in the cheap ugprades category. It'll probably get smoked by all of them, short of a turbo kit.

But you can't ever upgrade those cars' looks to match that of a Z.

I had the choice of srt-4/350z/evo

Bottom line, srt-4 is a neon and most girls think it's "a cute little car".

Evo, proven engine, pretty fast out of the box, but it's a sedan and unless you are knowledgable about cars you may not realize what it is, just looks like a regular sedan with a 'shiney radiator'

350z deffinently has both of the cars beat in the looks category. It's both sporty and classy, and it never fails to turn heads. It may not be as fast as the other cars, but there is something to be said for class.

Thumbs up

Another vote to keeping the SRT-4 right here!

C'mon, someone's gotta drive them and variety on the road is the spice in my driving life.

Going from the SRT to a Z is alot more than the few grand difference in retail price. You'll be in another world of BROKE trying to upgrade the Z's speed faster than you can ask "How much for a Nismo shiftnob?"

I'm not trying to be mean, just keeping it real.

I just sold my SRT-4 and am getting a 350Z so I can sympathize with this decision. My SRT has been a great car and the speed of it still surprises me. It has real fat torque and can just pull like stink in any gear. For the $$$ you just can't touch it. But, as already said before the chassis is lacking. The SRT is still great, cheap fun for running around town but the 350Z is definitely a step up all around.

Get the dodge neon, you would look good in it and they have a great heritage.

he already owns the SRT-4 per the initial post. Plus he's putting 275hp and 300ft lbs of torque to the wheels it's not just any "neon".

I was pretty close to purchasing a STi as well, but went with the Z for these reasons:

1. The Z is more classy. (interior and exterior)
2. The Z has more of a tradition in the U.S (not sure about Japan)
3. It would be easier to sell in the future because it has more public appeal
4. Its a sports car!
5. Respectable performance.
6. Lower maintenance
7. I'm not married and don't have any kids so I figured I'd go ahead and get the 2-seater now and when I get kids look at getting a high performance 4-door.

With that said, I think the Z is the perfect blend of style and performance, especially for the price.

Your SRT-4 sounds like one heck of a car, so if you're strictly into performance, I'd probably just keep the neon. But get whatever makes you the happiest!

I had previously owned a SRT-4. It was one fast car. I hated everyone making fun of me because it was still a neon, even i used to eat corvettes for lunch. The Z is a much better car all around, better handling, nicer interior, and not to mention the classy look. If you can afford a Z buy one, if not stick with the SRT-4. Parts for the Z are 3 times the price for parts for the SRT-4.

I usually never chime in on these BS posts, but eat Corvettes for lunch in an SRT4, please.

I meant, if you're strictly into drag racing then you should probably keep the neon.

<-- Don't won't to offend any fellow Z owners

when you have 5 thousand in mods on a turbocharged motor, and the motor was built to modified then its possible.

Just go check the available parts for that beast and see the horsepower gains you can get from it. You can have a 300 whp neon with less than 1200 more, maybe even less than that. That car was built to race, in fact its the same head as the drag racing SRT-4. But still it looked too much like a kids car, that why i got rid of it.

what good is comming to a Z forum asking that kind of qustion when everyone here has already made that decision and it is completley biased.

go drive a Z and ull see. theres nothing like it... it just a Z not a neon, and girls will know that.
