I prefer Z's interior and dont consider Altima coupe interior better quality.

Because the Z's interior is cooler than that with the tri guages on the dash and the HUD adjusting with the wheel. Its a Nissan for Christ's sake. I don't consider what I see in those pictures to be any better than a Z. I actually prefer the Z more.

Not to sound like an ***, but IMHO the G35C interior is crap too for what you pay. I actually think the Z interior is a little better just because of the nice gauges.

 

I haven't kept up w/Z redesign plans, but it might be pointless if a major redesign is coming soon. After all, by time, the Z is due for one soon. Also, major interior redesigns are pretty costly and for a car which sells in low quantities like the Z, it might not be economically feasible to do so within a generation while still keeping the car profitable and price competitive.

Among other changes, it relocated the gauges from the center of the instrument cluster to in front of the driver. Potential buyers were turned off by the location.

The Quest is due for a redesign for the 2010 model year. "

I love people's complaints "it looks like this car mated with this car, with a little bit of another car mixed in" Come on, you can say the same thing about any other car out there. Its a lame argument. Can you think of anything worthwhile to say rather than it looks like a Scion + Camry + G35 + Z(tail lights) + GTi B-Pillar + Sonata license plate holder...

 

Was at the dealer today getting new plates for my 07 Z and saw a red Altima coupe in the flesh.

I was surprised at how cheap the interior seemed. I thought it would be nicer than the Z, but no. The plastic dash thrusts out and overwhelms you and the storage cubbie under the radio is ... interesting. I like the steering wheel, that's an improvement.

The design of the coupe. Hmmm. I like the rear end. Lovely lines. The front is boring. Not an Altima fan, though. This model also had the smaller wheels and they didn't fill the wells enough.

Overall, not something I would consider and probably not competition for Z buyers.
