I don't think it is, thanks. I hope it does come with 320rwhp and a lighter chasis.

If the next Z comes close to 3000 lb, I don't know how I can keep my money away from Nissan...

A smaller Z makes sense to me.

Think about this the next STI is being made smaller to reduce weight.

A smaller z would ,make wires shorter and fuel lines and brake lines also. rotational weight of the driveshaft would be reduced shorter shaft.

so just making a car shorter could reduce weight and maybe a small change in loss to the wheels.
And for nissan they keep the car around the same price but make more money from giving less car. Less is more

Not sure if anyone posted this, but I seem to have missed it by a few days:

There's a speculation rendering of the Z.

Wow, all my vehicle purchasing decisions have been put on hold until further notice - been test driving BMW 335i's lately...no longer. Less weight, more power, 3.7L HR, possible removable targa-type roof? Sold.

The possibility of a lighter Z might make me hold off on a G37c purchase.

So many great promising cars coming out in the next year or so... G37, GTR (albeit out of my range), Evo, S5, Challenger, Camaro.....

It is a good time to be a car enthusiast.

The guy said 320hp to the rear wheels from just a 3.7L upgrade. That's a huge difference from the vq35HR. And it does looks smaller than the current 350z.

Manufacturers never rate power at the wheels. Most likely the 370Z will be getting a near identical version of the VQ37 thats in the G37..probably making 330-335HP. Just like Nissan rated the 350Z higher then the G35 coupe in power I would expect the 370Z to be rated slightly higher then the G37.

If you replace the current items with similar components as I mentioned the cost would be a "little" higher....Bought in bulk the ligher items wont cost as much as if we bought it individually.....Id happily pay 2-3k more for a better product than pay 10-15 more in the aftermarket.....We are going to mod the Z anyway and spend way more money than if it was done by the factory....

320 to the rears would mean the 3.7 is putting out close to 400 at the crank...I highly doubt that...I would of course love that but Nissan aint doing that at least not now...

How so? Because of a different hood and new engine? If that's the criteria, then the '06's should be the Z34 since it had a new engine and different bumper and tail lights. '07 would be Z35
