Test mule Spy pics and Video?
I know that Nissan sales people don't know s**t about what's really happening at Nissan but I mentioned the 370Z to my friend who is a Nissan salesman and he said no way, it's going to be a 400Z. There is no proof, just what a Nissan sales guy who if a friend of mine and I trust said. He also mentioned horsepower in the 400hp range. Take it for what it's worth, could just be gossip.
Wonder if they are changing the Weight Distrobution to be closer to 50/50 with the wheelbase changes.. it looks like the Front of the car is what is moving back, using up most of that 7 inches..

If you read this the thread here you'll see that, because it's kinda obvious from all of the clues.
If you don't see it... God bless you.

the 07 has an almost identical chassis to the 03-06. Don't know why it would be considered a different chassis w/ Z34. Also, the new 370Z is supposed to use the same GTR motor but in N/A form.

Accoring to sources over at GTChannel, Nissan’s Autech division has finalized designs on a retractable hardtop convertible 350Z. The car is expected to use the current chassis as a test mule.
GTChannel is saying that we could possible see a facelift of 350Z as early as this year’s Tokyo Auto Show in concept form. Sales of the redesigned Nissan 350Z will begin some time in 2009, leading to a confirmation of the retractable hardtop variant.
Nissan’s Autech division focuses primarily on vehicle conversions.

No, looks like the redesign will be 09, I really doubt they're close to releasing a major redesign in January of next year.
S130 6 years 78, 79, 80, 81, 82, 83
Z31 6 years 84, 85, 86, 87, 88, 89
Z32 7 years 90, 91, 92, 93, 94, 95, 96
Z33 6 years 03, 04, 05, 06, 07, 08?
I'd say Jan of 09 would be a safe bet for the redesign and the year after for the retractable hardtop. Safe for me to buy an 07 now.

And even if this is a Photoshop job there are plenty of videos floating around to verify this car exists. It is hard to argue the accuracy of the proportions of the Z in the videos? How can you doctor up videos?

i would be severely let down if there wasn't a redesign on the new "370z" or whatever. we've had the same model since late 02 and it is time for a change. i am not impressed by the pics so i will have to wait and see some finalized shots before i make my decision on whether or not to get a Z06, lol.

I do not know what you do for a living but that is not a PS dude. Not unless you are talking about the awesome photoshopping of the text.

If you use a super strong zoom lense (like spy guys probably do), the more you zoom, the less the "objects closer to you is bigger" effect you will get. This is because EVERYthing in that pic is far from you.
New Short Wheelbase Fairlady Z to Rival Porsche Cayman S
A downsized Z34 Fairlady Z will follow the new GT-R’s footsteps in doing battle with Porsche, going up against the Cayman S and BMW Z4 Coupe.
Sightings of an obviously shortened satin black Z33 Fairlady Z in Germany have given rise to speculation that it will be a new budget compact sports car from Nissan, possibly reviving the Silvia nameplate… but new information tells us this Z33 test mule is in fact the new Z34 Fairlady Z running on a 100mm shorter chassis, putting it sqaurely in Cayman S and BMW Z4 territory.

To further differentiate the Z34 Fairlady Z from the V36 Skyline, the shortened chassis will firmly entrench the Z34 as an outright 2-seater sports car as opposed to the Skyline’s GT car status. The engine however will still be sourced from the Skyline as we reported previously here, but with a claimed output of 350ps with some unique tuning applied to the VQ37VHR putting it’s power slightly above the BMW Z4. The latest news surrounds the inclusion of a 7 speed sequential automatic transmission to be sold alongside a 6 speed manual. Information about this new transmission is scarce at the moment so we’ll have an update as soon as a clearer picture emerges.
Even with 100mm shorter wheelbase, at 2550mm the Z34 will still be 55mm longer than the BMW Z4, and 135mm longer than the Porsche Cayman S. It will also be the heaviest amongst the three cars at 1450kg, although would be slightly offset by higher peak torque (estimated at 38.5kg/m) arriving at 4500rpm, 100 - 400rpm lower than the German cars. Short overhangs front and rear will give the Z34 a more unique look, with the wheel arches being filled by substantial 19 inch alloy wheels and wide rubber. A lower waistline will also accomodate a lower roofline, which dispite a reduction in height, will still be higher than it’s BMW and Porsche rivals.

ummm... this all speculation and no fact. Alot of rumors.
I highly doubt we are going to see a "shorter version" of the Z33 as the Z34.
This appears to be a test mule of a new compact (possibly the silvia). Not the Z34...
BTW. wrong section!
