A 7AT would definitely be exciting. I think that might figure into the 35k base price.
I don't think a 7at justifies raising the base price from $28ish to $35ish. Even if it had a dual clutch it wouldn't justify charging $35k. I'm pretty sure that the base will be $30-32ish.
All that really matters is weight. A car's fun-to-driveability is inversely related to its weight (and directly related to its weight balance). If they could please get the Z under 3000 lbs, it doesn't matter if it has the 3.5 or 3.7 HR motor.
I call BS unless you can say where and what event this car was shown at. I live in vegas...I can easily check to see if such an event took place, so please prove me wrong.
I wish they would hold a big event with current owners to discuss the styling cues and things we'd like out of a new one - a my350z focus group would have been nice. Ford just did it for the Taurus SHO for christ's sake.
If so, where and when was this event held? Just saying "it's true" means nothing. Just give me some basic info so I can confirm it. I have found nothing about any recent Nissan conferences in the LVCVA database. If that car was really here, then dozens of people in CES, the teamsters, and even culinary services would have had to see it.
