Well the rumor is now $35k (C&D states North of 35 in fact)

Dont know whats up with some people. With the competition, rising costs etc. How in the hell would a complete redesign (not just model refresh) be at the same or near the previous models price set?? Are you even reading all the previews, speculations or even the hype etc?... and just a $1k price hike??

The same was said for the new STI's price as well...And everyone knows how that turned out
why did the G37 stay around the same price as the G35 then?

a base 2006 G35 coupe was roughly $33,500 while a 2008 G37 was roughly $35,000, that's a $1,500 jump for a base

Why would Nissan in their right mind jump $8,000 for a 370Z

just doesn't add up in my book but we shall see

ps- Nissan doesn't care to just cater to Enthauists or they would have the 300ZX all over again, great cars don't alway equal success from a sales standpoint

I hope Nissan keeps the 370Z below 30k at base MSRP.

$35,000 for a 370Z would equal fail. Not many are willing to spend that kind of money on an entry level sports car. Though im sure it would still be worth the money.

The 07 350Z is a great car because it offers so much for the money. Let's hope Nissan keeps it that way.

Civic SI is an entry level sports car, maybe that is more to your liking?

^ I am forced to agree with MMC Racing. The 350z (at least in my circles) was considered an entry level sports car. Just as the cars such as the Civic have evolved some, the Z must evolve.

Due to other manufactors coming out with poser sports cars, trying to cotend in an arena they are not too familiar with at this level, the Z and Nissan should distance themselves somewhat. It cannot be a simple bump in performance.

With the performance specs the next Z will appear to have, it is a whole new ballgame. Similar to how the GTR is truly Godzilla to the world when compared to the other supercars of the world.

If that is still true in a year when this thing ships, we are all in trouble.

still doesnt make sense, with rumors swirling of a G car to compete with the BMW 1 and Lexus as rumored to have one in the works then why would the G37 stay at the price it's at

i'm telling you right now, Nissan will turn alot of people off with a base price of $35k

especially with cars like the Hyundai Genesis having a $26k tag for the performence it will have

I love the Z, my dad has a 240, my sister had a ZX and I have a 350Z but i'd be hard pressed to buy a base 370Z for $35k

I'd suggest people don't get worked up over rumors.. There is no way this base is going to be 35k, so don't sweat it.

LOL LOL WTF .. Hyundai is not even real car..lol

yeah man your going to be so cool in your Hyundai lol..

A true sports car should run you more then Toyota CAmery SE or All those other 4 door family cars. I would pay 40K out the door for fully loaded 370z with 19inch wheels 4 Pot Brakes, 350hp, Dual Trann setup with Nav.

So I can pass your Hyundai on road why my GF is lol at you..

Again, I say Aman Brother. The Z is not a poser sports car. Nissan does not even consider the Solstice or Genesis as a Z competitor. It was noted their new entry level sports car will battle it out with them.

The Z has evolved.....again.

A couple of possibilities... 1. The supposed sports car thats taking the Z's spot as entry level, thus kicking the Z mid level. http://www.leftlanenews.com/nissan-3...ports-car.html

2. They could very well offer the Z with less trims (ala gtr). But I agree everything is just speculation. Nothing is set in stone yet. And comparing the G and Z like that? We all heard it before. Its just the same old G vs Z thats been going on for ages. Like or not they are two distinct cars and markets.. Besides we all know which one is the true sports car...

Hell this whole thread started because some are concerned about the price..

LOL Did anyone start a thread stating "Whoo Hoo!! Alright!! $35k!!!"?

Get a better job if $35k is too much. Even that price is cheap nowdays..

im glad the 370 will be in the 35k range starting out. under 30k with nothing to compete with it directly was ridiculous.

Exactly. I'm getting sick of seeing white trash driving riced out 350's. I know a kid that works at a Home Depot and he owns one. 35k is fine by me as long as it isn't as stripped-down as the current base models - maybe it will be just a little bit more exclusive.

they made a Nismo edition on top of the 350Z

they sigmented a small group, it's not like that is the only car they produced

you think Nissan would be ok just producing Nismo 350Z's and no other models??? that's what I thought

it's also funny how people rip on Hyundai b/c at one point people felt the same way about Nissan

There are other cars out there in the same price range that are better or similar bargins. Nissan needs to go back to when the Z used to stand out from other cars rather than just compete with them. Also I'm not sure where you got the "at least 350hp" from since most reports elude to the fact that 350hp will be near the max of what it will come with. Chances are we'll see closer to 330-340hp range.
Why would anyone pay nearly 40k for a 370z when you could get a 08+ 1LT C6 Vette for 39.9?

The point isn't really whether it's too expensive or not. I see the main issue being if it's that expensive, why not just step up to a better performance car to start out with? Maybe a 1LT C6 LS3-powered Vette for 39.9?

My point was, you dont see people making threads praising a price hike.

Pardon the longish post. Bored with a freaking headcold...

Why? Not everyone wants or likes vettes and vice versa for a Z. Everyone has different wants and needs..
Dont know how many times its been said.. Its not all about speed or performance or even price Some people just like or want a particular make or model...
