It makes too much sense I guess 370 v. C6

The car has tons of potential in the looks and performance dept but it will take the aftermarket and alot of dough to bring out the butterfly. But the performance and looks of the C6 is hard to beat between these two. I much prefer the Z06 body to both the C6 and ZR1 and 370z. If I could find a C6 Z06 in the mid 40k range I know what Id buy. Maybe in 20yrs the reg Z will approach the performance numbers the Z06 has now and maybe 5-10yrs before it approaches the C6.
Unfortunately in many ways I think they have created a box for themselves. If they make the Z that much more powerful then they're realistically cutting into the GTR market IMO. There are many that like the looks and RWD of the Z more than the GTR (I might be one of those, not sure).

Frankly, I'd rather pay 50k for a Z with 425-450 hp than I had a Vette for the same power. Power isn't everything I know....I'm one of those that is far more concerned with handling, but let's face it..the Vette doesn't give up much (if anything) in the handling department and has the power to go with it.

I like the Vette, but if I were going to buy one it would be the Z06. That's more $ right now than I want to spend on ANY car.

they dont need to make it more powerful... I have an 05 and when I was running an 85 shot I was beating C6's at the track .....3 of them actually.... they werent Z06's but driver makes a big difference.... The new 370Z will be cheaper to mod than a C6... if you are the type of person who wants to customize your car so it doesnt look like every other car then the 370Z is the way to go.... Boosted 370Z imo will slap a Z06 like a red headed step child....

You're right, but I'd just as soon keep that little thing called factory warranty. There's a part of me that would love to throw the twins on also believe me.. but that side usually loses (or has so far).

Uh....no. The Corvette is cheaper to mod. The only mods that increase power on the 350Z are FI (look at all the VQ35HR). The Corvette has 436hp stock and with minor mods such as CAI, tune, and gears you could very well be pushing 430rwhp (gears improve power, but it'll make it hella faster in the 1/4). LS3 engine will respond to mods better $ for $ than a VQ35/37HR.

U MUST BE JOKING.....any LS engine is cheaper to mod than an 350 or even 370

i can take a 1999 350hp ls1 and add intake/heads/cam/exhaust and a tune...and put down just as much hp as the average Turbo DE,rev-up,HR...

why do u think there arent a buttload of turbo corvettes.....because u can get plenty of hp...and tq with n/a mods

I know this is a 350z sight...and everyone loves what they have...but be realistic...

i would prolly choose the Z over the c6, because its more my style....but i have no delusions it is better necesarily

i gotta stop you there man. the C6 is way cheaper to mod than a Z. hands down. the prices are going to be even steeper for the 370 because it is a first year production...there will be no such thing as discounts.

Like others have said, I love my 350 but the 370 just isn't doing it for me. I've finally finished modding my 350 but I'm not sure if a 370 will be in my future. It may very well be a 2008 C6.

You may not have to wait very long for a mid-40's C6 Z06. You can find them in them in the 50's now, and with GM's instability, they'll drop another 10K by next summer. People aren't lining up to spend big money on toys right now....most people have more important things to worry about these days. Cars are only worth what people will pay for them and at some point, dealers will be forced to take whatever they can get. Be patient.

everyone nowadays has a vette, i honestly see more vettes down here in the south than i see Zs. 80% of them stock driven by douchebags and the other 20% are either Z06s or have some absurb wheels that dont belong on them.

i'll also take the GT-R over the Z06 any day of the week. i know the ZR1 is suppose to be a monster but what about the potential world ending V-spec GT-R?
I agree. Im in N.O.L.A. also, and down here they have vettes all over, with the occasional z. In metarie alone you will see a vette every 5 minutes while driving down veterans. I have also noticed that it seems like a ot of older women are driving vetts nowadays.

None of these would keep me from getting one, but once again in my eyes the new z just looks mean, and tasteful.

Not for a base z with the sport package which seems to be the best bang for buck.

The C-6, the latest, it a great handling car for a great price but the interior is not great. However, as Jay Leno says " If you want a great looking interior, buy a nice living room set with a great couch". The vette is all about perfomance and for the price it can not be beat. 0-60 in under 4.5 and a 1/4 in the mid 12's with over 27 mpg on the highway for about the same price as a loaded Z. No car is perfect for everyone, It is all about what makes you smile........
Thats what Im talking about.
