Vette and Z are not in the same category. Sure you can buy a vette at steep discounts for now. But do you really wanna buy a car from a car company that is on the brink of failing?
Just my opinion but I wouldn't consider it.
Don't listen to the media. GM is not on the 'brink' of failing. I have worked for GM Canada for 3 years now, and we have been debriefed over and over again that no one is going anywhere. With exception to plant closures due to lower production, GM's quality is par with most other makes, compared to a few years ago.
I personally hate their cars, thus why I own a Z , but seriously the problem is only USA GM, Chrysler and Ford.
Cool it dudes, and back to the issue. I too sold my Z for a C6 and I have to admit....the C6 is a better all around sports car than the Z. But relatively speaking, the Z is a better car for me b/c it's priced where I need it to be. I no longer have my C6 b/c a drunk teacher decided she didn't want me to have it anymore, but im not going to buy a C6 again. Price being considered, the Z is better for me.
you sholuld check the difference in your insurance cost before making a purchase of either car.
Oh most definitely, but if it may run me an extra hndred a month for a vette over a z I would definitly go with the z. I just hate paying all that money to companies who just screw you over if you ever actually need them. Insu companies **** me off something bad.

100 a month over the life of your loan (let us say 4 years) is 4,800 bucks....so rather than spending 7k more for a vette you are spending 11,800 for the 100 more hp and a slightly lighter car.....
To the best of my knowledge I wasnt talking to or about you. Why are you so damn defensive?
"On the other hand like you are getting at, why post so many vette threads in a z forum?" is what you wrote.
Sorry, my mistake. It sounded like you were referring to the others whining about me and my Vette threads. It's not exactly hard to confuse such a thing at this point, in this thread, now is it? I'm wasn't being defensive, just setting the record straight. Again, I apologize if I misinterpreted your post.

For me anyway, the Vette is actually less to insure than the 350Z was....not by much...maybe ten bucks a month.....but it is less. Not sure why.

You are correct that GM probably won't go anywhere. But don't believe that nonsense that GM is not in trouble and not on the brink of failure if they don't get assistance. If they weren't in trouble they wouldn't be in Washington begging for $. GM's troubles aren't because of quality, but for many other reasons.
ZZtroll-your early buttstuffing days have grown to epic proportions-unfortunately, your **** reduction surgery has now allowed for the diarrhea
