Ive lost you. Either way Id much rather get a z and put the extra money into making it a TT instead of giving it to the insu company while owning a vette. A sleeper z would be nicer than a vette. Ill see what happens though.

Ive just been saving money for a while now and I have a nice down payment, and am not sure what to do. There are so many nice options on the horizon.

Sorry, my mistake. It sounded like you were referring to the others whining about me and my Vette threads. It's not exactly hard to confuse such a thing at this point, in this thread, now is it? I'm wasn't being defensive, just setting the record straight. Again, I apologize if I misinterpreted your post.
It was general statement about the board more than anything. To be honest I am new around here and I am finding that this board is just as bad as all the rest of the boards on the net. Bicker bicker bicker. I guess it comes with the territory.

Thats crazy. If there is only a few bucks difference a month that wont play into my decesion anyway.

Oh Im as patient as they come I WANT the 370 but if that 45k Z06 comes around anytime soon Im switching Z's.
man.. i lurk here. i lurk at the the main vette forum.. i would be real hesitant about buying a used z06 (c6). there's been more than a few problems with the engines seizing and rocker arm needle bearings being found in the oil. if any mods have been done to the car at all gm is getting **** about denying warranty work. lots of vette owners have flashed their tune and gm can tell. they find a tuned z06 and your engine is toast, the cost alone of the motor is 15k.... so if you even consider buying a used z06 unless you plan to mod the hell out of it anyway, and have tons of money i wouldna touch a used z06 unless it was my grandmother's (and shes bee dead quite a while now)...

your opinion on a sleeper z being nicer than a vette is subjective. however, you can get an 08 C6 way cheaper than what it would cost you to get your 370 to that HP level (trust me, i know). but if you just love the Z, then you are making the right choice.

thanks zztopp,
I will admit one thing tho, after seeing all the back and forth talks going on here. My father has the c6 and i have the nismo. They are both TOTALLY different cars. I have driven both many times to seek the differences between them, and in my opinion its all about driver preference. For me, the c6 is godly fast, its 436 horses with the dual mode exhaust, and its screamin fast in a straight line. It handles very, very well, especially with the z51(you get the supercar f1 tires from the z06). The nismo has that "cockpit" feeling...i feel like im in a fighter jet and can take a hard rite turn at mach 2.........the vette is the type of car that you know u can beat 90% of other cars that pull up next to you...but overall...theyre both WONDERFUL cars, and just drive them and enjoy it....and drive them the way theyre supposed to be driven

I did the APS TT thing on my 2003 Z, and although I enjoyed every minute of it. I would only do it again if there was a good tuner shop locally. There are just too many variables and things that can go wrong on a daily basis. I stayed on top of minor things myself, but for anything major I would have to drive the car back 300 miles to the shop in Scottsdale that did the work. I only had to do that once, but it was a PITA. No one locally could tune the APS software. I went back to a Vette after that.....much simpler to deal with and a better car to boot.

The TT was a blast to drive, though. I still miss the "shot out of a cannon" rush of the TT's, and the sound of the blow off valve was intoxicating. It did prove that the 350Z was capable of handling much more power than stock. The APS system was amazing, and if there was an authorized shop here that could do the work and maintain the car, I wouldn't hesitate to put their C6 TT system on my current Vette.

You can't go wrong with either choice, it just depends on how deep your pockets are and how much maintenance you want to put up with. Going TT is not cheap.

I got rid of those horrible Goodyears and put on some Nitto Invo's. The difference was night and day. Better, quieter ride, incredible grip, and not too bad in the rain.

my dad is actually looking at better tires....the goodyears, ill admit are very, very noisy....he doesnt drive the car in the rain at all but in case he ever does, im sure he would like to feel safer nd feel like hes figure skating across the road. Ive heard alot of good things about Nitto, I'll be sure he gets the message

Yeah, its a tough choice to be honest. I mean this will be my first new to slightly used car, so I want to make the right choice. Wouldnt mind having both.LOL

could someone that's familiar with both cars make a comparison for each vehicle (370 v. c6)? such as hp, weight, cost...etc.

Sold the 2005 35th Anniversary Z and got a 2007 C6. Sold the Z for $31500 in August with 15000 kms and got a 2007 C6 with 9000kms for $39,900 2 weeks later.
Ran a 12.8 @110mph bone stock it's the red 1... the black runs 11's

<a href="http://s253.photobucket.com/albums/hh55/Z_35TH_Z/?action=view&current=Picture1452.jpg" target="_blank"><img src="http://i253.photobucket.com/albums/hh55/Z_35TH_Z/Picture1452.jpg" border="0" alt="Photobucket"></a>

P.S. I work for Nissan but the C6 is way more of a rush to drive than the Z

wow what a mess of a thread. However its so easy to see who the true enthusiasts are and who the fanbois are. Im amazed every brand has them even yugo.

I consider myself an enthusiast and am also hoping to land a new c6 before my b-day next month. While I love my Z - its an entry level sports car- plain and simple.Delivers plenty of bang for the buck but there are now plenty of alternatives out there.Insurance for me is actually lower by $15 a month on a C6- my agent said the 350z went up a couple of notches this year on the risk alogrithms.Seeing the new owners thread/crash treads explains it all.

Nissan will lure me back if they offer a turbo or v8 Z powered car.Till then only my 05 pathfinder will be the sole nissan badge in my driveway by years end.
