Default HR Owners..Regret?

this is for all you HR owners...give me your honest answer...i notice that alot of the "hating"..idk if i should use that word but to me its the most suitable...anyways..alot of the "hating" of the 370 is comming from HR owners..if you could do it all over again..would you change your purchase?370Z or stick with you relatively new HR?

As of now, I dont think the 370 is too impressive. Im going to wait maybe a year or two for some revisions before I would even consider the 370 as a next choice.

i would rather put money into my '07. hopefully, all the parts will drop a little in price. and if i do ever trade, i'm pretty sure it won't be for a 370Z.

thats the same way i feel..really wanna get it but its smarter to wait...especially the fact that its a risk getting the 1st model that comes out...not to mention the new tranny...i know the tranny for my model had problems so let wait and see what happens to this one...

i think it really depends when you bought the HR. if you just bought a new 08 recently, i would definitely have buyers remorse. for those who bought 07/08's and been driving for 6 months or more, i wouldnt sweat it.

thats why i thought of this thread because of HR dudes not feeling the Z...i understand that people have different tastes in vehicles or even models of the same vehicle but dont become bias because of your bad choice...not saying that it is a bad choice buying a HR but you know what im saying..

i would trade 04 for a 09 in a heartbeat if my 04 wasnt modded. 09 is sex. its a bit faster, handles a bit better, the interior is lighter and i think it sexier. what's not to like about the 09? is it leaps and bounds better? not really but its amazing the amount of hate it gets, especially from HR owners, its comical.

im sure the same crap happened with vette owners when the c6 came out with c5 owners hating on it before the release, especially the c5 Z06 owners.

The only meaningful advantages that the new car has over my 07 350 are (1) stiffer chassis and revised suspension yielding a .97g - .99g skidpad number from the factory, (2) The shorter wheelbase will allow more transfer of weight to the rear tires for better traction, and (3) My resale value tanked on my 350 due to being a nissan and being an "old" body-style.

Looks (in and out) are subjective so this is my opinion: there are some really offensive design cueues to the 370 (Flat spots on the fender sides), but I think the rear looks better than the 350, so looks are a wash. Interior is slightly better materials, but the dash is more upright, more modular-looking and that multi-finction gauge is a horrific mistake - Really! Nissan did not consider that gauge was near the window on a USDM car - OOPS! Product manager should be fined for that one. I like the part faux-suade seats. Overall, interior is a draw. I like the shape of the 350 interior much better - except I never liked the 350 instrument cluster for speedm rpm, etc.

I certainly do not regret the great times I have had in that car for the last 18 months or so.

- The car is not really smaller. it looks smaller, but stand next to one and it's actually kinda big.
- The weight is not really reduced, anthough it's better distributed.
- the blind spot is a killer - expect parking lot accidents to increase with the 370
- The differences in power can be made up with simple bolt-ons (and has already - 296 WHP on my HR with no tune yet - intakes, HFCs, Exhaust)
- The 350 acceleration can be made up with a new differential gears
- The 350 handling can be made up with suspension mods, but it will ride stiffer.

So I'd say no, I don't regret buying it 18 months and 21k miles ago. My "commute" is only 1.5 miles so all those miles are from going out and enjoying my car and life in general. If I were in the market for a new car today, I'd choose the 370 over the 350 hands-down just for the improvements in handling - But not enough of a step up to consider an upgrade.

If it came with a v-8 option or fatory TT, I'd make the jump ASAP.

No remorse at all. The new 370 is growing on me, but I would not want to fork over the cash. My '07 sat on the dealership lot forever, so I picked it up in 4/08 for just $22,800. I only have 3,000 miles on my weekend toy, and only owe $17,900. There is no way I could get that kind of deal on a 370 - not now or for quite awhile - so, I'll stick with what I have and feel quite good about it!

Well, I love my car, and I have had the privilege of enjoying it for a year and a half before the new Z was even out. I do like the 370Z so no hating from my direction, but I like my car just fine and the past 18 months of driving and modding it are worth not waiting.

Besides, if you are always waiting for the next model to come out, you will never buy anything. Maybe by the time I am ready to upgrade their will be a 400Z or perhaps I will buy something entirely different. Live with no regrets

I have an 07 GT with 3200 miles on it that is completely original and I have absolutely no regret. I love the new model though but am not interested in making a change at this point. Maybe in two or 3 years as Nissan refines the new design and most likely increases the power output.
That is exactly what happened with the 350. Look at the slow increase in power from the first engine to the HR, if they do that with the 370 That thing is going to be seriously fast. Nissan will do it to keep new buyers coming in.
I hope they eliminate the rear lower light/reflector, whatever that thing is in the future.
