Default dealer gave me a price for the 370z

I went in there today to check out the 370z. They only had one available there, the same one that was there about a month ago. (It was automatic with the paddle shifters)

After hours of talking.......for a 6 speed Touring (no sport package), they gave me the final price of $34,270.

Do you all think thats a good price for the 370?

He also told me he would sell his 08 350z for 28,800. Since it is their last one so they want to get rid of it. Told him he's out of his mind cuz i can get a 08 NISMO for 28K OTD(dont ask why i chose not to go for it)

Obviously not a good price or you would have taken it home.

Right now you shouldn't pay more than 300 over invoice. People are picking up 370z's for cheap right now due to the economy. Some dealerships are still holding firm at above invoice so you have to ask yourself if you are willing to be patient and look around and possibly have to travel. If I remember correctly invoice for a touring manual is about 31900. I personally want to get a touring manual with sport package and yellow (an extra 500) and invoice is something like 35800. The dealer is asking 34k which to me sounds closer to MSRP. I'd keep looking. Also check out *******.com as that site has much more info on the 370z. While this sight is great for the 350z it's very lacking in the 370z (which makes sense as this is my350z.com). Remember, right now it's a buyers market. You said it yourself, they've had the same car on the lot for a month now.

Desire1314, how do you get a signature to say "I like eating watermelon"? That's pretty neat.

Unless he wants to get a ban he won't.. Links to other car (Z) sites are frowned upon here... The same rules basically apply on that "other" site as well.

Yeah, thats too low. Seriously ask for 32k and hold firm at that. I checked and I was right that 31900 is the invoice price for the car you are looking at. Once you add in the "optional" floor mats you are looking at 32k. By asking 32k likely you'll get very close to that. Personally if I were in your shoes I wouldn't pay more than 33k, and thats only if it's a local dealer. If you have to travel I wouldn't pay more than 32300 (300 over invoice). By offering 29k it's showing them you aren't serious. Your best bet if you want to get your Z is to go in there with print outs off the net that show what invoice on this car is that you want. Another thing that would be good is if you can prove to them that you have been wathcing their inventory. For example you could go in and say I've noticed that your current 370z inventory hasn't moved in the last month or 2 months or however long. If they see that you've done your research and then offer a reasonable price they will either decide to work with you or continue to hope that some fool will pay a higher price. If they give you trouble just walk out and tell them to call you when they are ready. Mean time try other dealers. Lastly you have to remember that even if they sell the car at invoice the dealer is still making a profit; so don't fall for that line they try to give where they tell you they aren't making anything off the sale.

With respect the dealer did not take off anything. You don't have a contact. You don't have the car.

Well, if 280z/300z said it was a good deal before, my guess it's an even better deal with extra stuff.

The MSRP of the kickplate alone is 200. You were 300 over invoice without the goodies, so you should break out a calculator and do some simple math. The goal is invoice (or less). The closer you are, the better the deal. Not difficult.

Go on edmunds and look up the invoice price including options and destination. You should be able to get it for up to $500 under invoice but definitely no more than invoice.

If you want the car, you will do all in your power to do so! $2000 is alot of money however, im sure its not a deal breaker unless you dont actually plan on picking the car up in the first place. Either way, good luck with purchase. That is, if you pick it up.....

The invoice on a 370z Touring with kick plates, splash guards, trunk carpeting, and floor carpeting is $33,081...so it's not $300 over invoice? The price I'm getting is $32,300, that's $700 below invoice and probably closer to $1,000 below invoice considering that 32,300 includes the price of a spoiler. I just wanted to know if you guys think that's a sweet deal or just mediocre and shop around even more? I could probably get in Cali for about $200 cheaper, but I don't know if it's worth it to drive there over 200. Plus I've talked this deal into doing my maintenance at cost for the life of the car as well as giving me parts (i.e. nismo exhaust, intake, etc) at cost.

My other question was this: This dealer is charging me $300 for ZacTac-do you know what that is? He says its a clear coat over the paint...does that protect the car? Like would this be worthwhile in place of a clear bra?
