Despite its greener intentions, the hybrid Z would stick with its 3.7L V6.

Wouldn't this hurt the sale of Z34s??? If they came out with a 350z hybrid i wouldn't even consider buying a 350 lol.

i thought they were gonna do direct injection? wouldnt that help the MPG? on another note People dont buy sports cars for the fuel efficiency at least i didnt they buy them for their performance and handling. if they can perfect the hybrid to get 30mpg without sacrificing either then i guess its cool but i still wouldnt get it cause its too much$$$$

Hopefully Nissan is smart enough to not give the Z legacy such a bad name.

They're aiming this at Tesla by trying to steal their sales. Granted one's an electric, and one's a hybrid, they're still trying to develop an efficient, yet fast sports car.

What they should do is add direct injection, that would increase fuel efficiency and power...

Leftlane news has a habit of reporting unconfirmed rumors all the time. WTF is 370z.com anyway?

I won't believe anything that is reported until someone from Nissan breaks the news.

We can file this away with the GTR SUV, 450Z, Twin TurboZ, and GTR sedan.

Despite its greener intentions, the hybrid Z would stick with its 3.7L V6. However, an electric motor and a dual-clutch system (one for the gas engine and one for the electric motor) would be sandwiched between the engine and the drive wheels, resulting in a combined rating of at least 30 mpg.
Hell I get 30 mpg now..

thought it already was a hybrid. Doesn’t it burn rice and rubber?

Default Hybrid Z?

It likely may depend on Nissan's ability to met the upcoming CAFE & now EPA rules on gas mileage.

If it is a typical electric motor hybrid, then it may increase low end torque at the expense of added weight & maintenance.
